ChicagoCubs720
I have a serious problem, I bought a GeForce FX5500 a while ago to replace that integrated Intel crap, and all has worked fine up until now. I have noticed that MVP is sometimes 'snowy' and stuttery now. This wasnt the case before. So I saw jhath's tutorial on how to effectively use 3D Analyze. So I disabled my GeForce and enabled my Intel, restarted. Major problems. A portion of the screen was dragged out of sight to the left. I tried to open things and the window would open up in that 'blind spot'. I then turned on my tv and noticed that the blind spot was on tv! (my GeForce had a video output). The screen was very distorted and I almost got a friggin seizure from trying to re-enable my GeForce. The problem was, the GeForce had disappeared from the device manager. So I restarted in VGA mode so I could actually see everything on my monitor. I went to re-enable the GEForce and it was still gone. I then click on my INtel (which had somehow got disabled) to re-enable it. The GeForce then popped up saying that the computer had discovered it as new hardware. Meanwhile, I kept having to switch my VGA cable back and forth, back and forth. So I enable the GeForce, restart, everythings going fine except that it cant seem to find the drivers. So I put in the installation cd. midway through install, the screen goes black. So i restart (the INtel has enabled itself). So i thought, hmmm, why dont I click on the 'scan for hardware changes' button. I get a blue-screen error. I'm pretty much completely lost. I even tried System Restore (didnt work). Please Help! JoeyMcM93
Another problem huh? Well, for something this serious, I would contact nVidia or Intel about it. For some reason, your computer doesn't like the GeForce. Contating nVidia or Intel would be your best option In my opinion. Good luck man!
RAM
remove video card and reinstall. try to boot and just let windows install generic drivers for now. download this: http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.php. run the cleaner. it's self explanatory. reinstall drivers. ChicagoCubs720
I think I found out the problem and solved it. The two video cards were conflicting with eachother. The Nvidia made my monitor run a dual display, so actually somehow, both video cards were enabled at the same time. It is still weird considering I DID disable the GeForce. I was able to access the display properties and change my monitor to only a single display.
