Mav3rek
might have been 13 over .500, i'd buy that. but i'm a HUGE Reds fan, and know for a fact they haven't been 13 games out this year. Althought thanks to Jerry Narron's idiotic managing we are about to blow the game with the Giants....
cybernetic
Their pitching went south

hello
Cardinals just hit a wall. Their offense isnt producing, their pitching isnt pitching, their bullpen is blowing saves. Theyll get over it though. But there definately not the team they were last year.
Starholeblaster
the cards will be back. I have faith lol! Pujols is so totally the MVP. Beltran is good yes, but not like Albert. He smashes the ball! Albert is teh best player in the majors by a long ways. The Cards faltered a little bit when he was hurt, thats why they are not having more wins than they do at this point late in the season. They will win the division and turn it on come playoff time. Mav3rek
it started when they got swept by the pirates a couple weeks ago..
HardcoreLegend
It started a long time ago. It started when Tony Larussa refused to realize Mark Mulder was injured and continued to have him pitch for a month longer than he should have. It started when Jason Marquis stopped listening to his pitching coach and catcher, deciding he was just going to 'throw hard'. As for the rest of the pitching staff, they've done on par for what you would expect. Carpenter should win the Cy Young again this year...probably at least will win the ERA title. Suppan has been as reliable as usual and even Jeff Weaver has shown signs of life (that Delgado HR was the result of 2 erros and a blister on his finger). The offense has been producing enough to beat most NL teams this year, even the Mets. The pitching has been the crux of thier struggles all season. It was masked early on because of Pujols having a better first two months than any player in history. However, if they can get 2 or 3 quality starting pitching performances out of ANY of their 5, they can win not only the NL Central but the NLCS this year. I'm not saying they 'will' win the NLCS this year, or even get to it, but even the cream of the crop this year in the NL (The Mets) is hemorraging runs like the Pirates at this point in the season. But, no...the Cardinals haven't been very good at all this year, just good enough in spurts. What they need is pitching and need it in a bad way. If that turns around, they'll be fine.
