Hayman19
Hey everyone im looking for some help on how to go about installing these damn preview portraits for my jerseys as it can get quite confusing to find which jersey ive modded without the corresponding preview picture. Ive got a template which ive used, i open the uniforms.big with eagraph and extract the fsh i need to work on. Then i open the fsh with nfsh tool to get the folder, open the preview i want changed in paint shop pro x, copy my premade preview and paste it over the one i want to change. I do NOT touch the alphas. Then i save it and double click on the index.fsh in the folder with the preveiws to "rebuild" the fsh, then i go back to eagraph and import the fsh in and when i run mvp, i go to the team i replaced with the preview, click the team and right before i can see any previews, mvp05 crashes. Ive searched these forums like a madman but any time i search uniform portraits, or uniform previews or pretty much anything, almost every thread is dealing with player portraits. Now my question is, am i doing anything wrong? Im trying to install these exactly as i install my jerseys, and ive never had problems with my jerseys, ever, but these previews are driving me nuts! If any one reads this and tells me how to do this, i would greatly appreciate the help and if someone helps me and it works i would gladly make a sig/avatar/uniform/desktop wallpaper of your choice(if you wanted) for your help. So please someone take the time and please help me! BTW: Ive tried doing this with mvpstudio with the uni edit thing and it didnt work.
Mav3rek
This is the way I finally got it to work: 1)open uniforms.big with biggui 2)extract the fsh of whatever jersey you want (for example the yankees would be u11.fsh) 3)open the .fsh with nfsh tool 4)find the jersey you want to replace 5)copy the preview portrait that you have already made into this folder 6)make sure the preview is 128x128 and is a .bmp file 7)delete the original 8)rename the one you made to the one you wanted to replace (for example if your preview is named jersey then you would rename jersey to whatever file you wanted to replace (jersey becomes 001, or something like that) 9)open the index file with nfshtool to rebuild the index 10)open your uniforms.big back in with biggui and then choose import and pick the fsh you made(011.fsh if it were the yankees) 11)your done! no compression needed that's how I did it, any questions? let me know
Hayman19
YESS THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH LOL. Sorry im just really happy that someone told me, thank you. Mav3rek
well that was the one part i wasn't 100 percent sure about, when i did it biggui always said it was compressed, but i did it again just for the fun of it to make sure, so I guess it is required. But I know exactly where you are coming from, I searched and searched and searched the forums for 3 or 4 days and still couldn't find anything to give me the exact answer, so with some luck, and a mix and match of different techniques posted I finally got it to work and was sooooooooo happy, it was driving me nuts. glad to be of help! Hayman19
Well i was thinking it had to have something to do with compressing the fsh but i never knew how. I was trying everything and couldnt find the answer anywhere i just sort of put it off but now that i make uniforms for random teams, when i want to use them i have to guess(and usually guess wrong) lol and its pretty much just a real pain. Thanks again for your help
fred13
why not save the trouble by using MVP Studio.
Homer
i've never gotten MVP Studio to work. i always got an error message whenever trying to install or export anything. so i had to find a way to do it myself, and the way he described above works wonders. plus doing it this way makes me more familiar with how things work, making it easier for me when i'm trying to mod things. however, i never worry about compressing anything (thanks to kraw's installer thingy). the four programs i use are EAgraph, nfshtool, photoshop, and kraw's installer thingy. like they say, you can teach a man to fish...or something like that.
