JOET
I have tried several datafiles, 10 differnt recommended slider setups and a dozen so called fixes in the datafiles. None of these work at all. Can someone tell me how to set up an extreme situation where i can strike out several batters. I don't care about anything but K's even if the game is all lopsided fir hitting walks etc. Sliders change extremes batting -50 + 50 - Swing Frequency, riducilous high numbers changes in a datafile. Pitch meter or control control etc. whatever you have let me know - i want to find the solution to getting an ace pitcher to have a 10 K game. All recommendations welcome. Need help guys Any help at all..to find the answer. If you have made changes that actually helped pitchers to strike out batters let me know .......Thanks.....JoeT

TheNateGBent
I use the 06 Datafile, and I always strike out a few, generally from five to fifteen.

paulw
I don't get a lot of strikeouts myself but it probably has to do with the teams I play with. One key to getting k's is to set the hitter up - follow a curve on the inside part of the plate with a changeup inside or follow a slider that breaks wide of the zone with a fastball on the outside part. Balls that would go into a hot zone and then break outside of the strike zone usually often work. You can get lowball hitters to generally chase sinkers breaking down and out of the strike zone. Also, I think it all depends on what level you play at. There's a big difference in getting k's at All Star and getting them at Rookie.

paulw
The one thing that's great about MVP 2005 is it's customizability - however this is also a liability. When someone says they had 15 strikeouts or can't strikeout anyone out it would be nice if we were comparing oranges with oranges. It would be cool if there were a place where people could report longest homeruns, most strikeouts, most runs scored etc. measured against the same standard - for example EA Default tune, All Star Level, all sliders set at zero, etc.. Yes exactly there are many factors which will help you get strikeouts. If your playing lets say the Yankees or Redsox, then generally it would e much tougher to record many k's than let's say, the D-Rays. The pitcher you pitch with also is a major factor to recording k's. But you also must understand pitches, pitchers and what their best pitches are, and where and when to throw them. If your constantly throwing the same pitch, the batters will eventually get their timing perfect and hit it everytime. And also the level you play on depends ALOT. I mean obviously if your playing on rookie it's much easier to get k's than on MVP. I usually dont strike out too, too many but thats because ive tweaked my sliders so that the game is actually a challenge as before i could record k's and hit hr's at will.
