Guild Wars

Anybody else playing this game? This is hands down the best RPG I've ever played, and I'm looking for members to join my Guild (Team) and do some major damage on the almighty Charr. :shotgun:

Seriously, just curious if anyone else has the game.

Please count me in. Just not yet. I plan on buying this and is in my top 3 games to get:

COD2

Guild Wars

HL2.

I'll keep you in mind, and remember me in the coming months.

I haven't played a RPG since Myth 2, so I hope I like this game.

I've played alot of RPG's, and Guild Wars tops them by a landslide. My opinion, of course. The story is mature, the worlds are V A S T, and the option to team up to form a Guild makes the gameplay virtually endless.

Guilds (teams) can design their own Cape, which signifies what Guild you belong to, and you can eventually buy your own Guild Hall, with which you can host battles between other Guilds if that's what you desire. Guilds can form with other Guilds to become Alliances, in other words you can have your own "army" if you want to battle other Alliances.

If you're an RPGer, this is the game to have. I've posted a screenie of my character (early Ranger), perched on a snowy mountain ridge picking off enemies from below to open a path for my party.

I tried to get into this game as alot of the guys I go to school with play it but it was just something I personally couldn't get into. Don't get me wrong, the game is unbelievable and the fact you don't have to pay to play online makes it that much better. However to me, this is the new era of RPG whereas I'm a fan of the classic RPG's such as Chrono Trigger for the SNES.

I love the classics too:

Chrono Trigger

Secret of Mana

Final Fantasy III

Breath of Fire

Lunar Series

Zelda Series

..and many more. And you're right, it is a new era. The characters and the storyline (even offline) are much more mature as is the gameplay. I was skeptical too, but after playing through the first few missions and absorbing the storyline, I realized it's only the new brand of RPG's which is just as good as the classics.

The foundation is the same, the mechanics are a new breed. Nonetheless, this seems to be the direction RPG's are headed. I've gotten used to it and I'm looking forward to more of this type.

I'm afraid I'll pay the $, and then not like it. I also don't want to turn into a sci fi geek. I'm scared, but may do it anyway.

If you have doubts, then I suggest holding on to your money. If you're afraid of a video game altering your personality, maybe your money would be better spent 'lying on a couch' somewhere.

JK Mo.

Seriously, this game isn't for everyone, and there's plenty of people already playing. I just thought I would find out who plays the game from the MVP Mods Community.

does it cost monthly to play it online?

Thats one of the best features- it doesn't!

I have the original game, but I can't shell out very often to get x-packs so I don't really play it. It's a great game though.

So far, this is the dumbest, gayest, most retarded, weirdest, most intriguing waste of time. I'm not even sure it was a waste of time or what the point to this game was. I think I am stupider for having tried this strabge game. Is this a game for people with no friends? Was I playing some kind of fighting game mixed with Sims? What the freak was I just doing? :alright:

Time to buy HL2 and find some poor soul to take this game from me.

what would i need to give you? won't you need my CDs also?

He would need your email/password combination, something it is doubtful you will be willing to give to him. Plus, it's technically against the Guild Wars rules.

i love guild wars but it is kinda annoying that every year as new expansion comes out to get all three games now would be 150 dollars ive already got the first two but i guess 50 dollars a year aint to bad compared to some others and it keeps the game exciting with new storyline but idk i wish it were more like 30 dollars
