bhogg
I don't know what I've done, but it's not good. As you may know, Bonny and I are working on a 1987 roster set complete with accurate minor leaguers. We have a somewhat playable file -- ML rosters are set, hitter ratings are set, and some pitcher ratings are set. The minors are still iffy. . .lots of guys named "fake fake." Here are some oddities with the file: The teams are not what you think they are. For example, I played as the Cubs against the Tigers. The screen said "cubs and tigers." The records were right. The unis were right. However, the announcer said "welcome to MVP baseball, where we have the RED SOX versus the ROYALS." Also, the team rankings are weird. There are lots of teams ranked 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. For whatever reason, the game says that the phillies do not have the needed 25 man roster. The game will not let the computer auto utilize the roster. Very weird. To get around this, i have to shut down and restart. I tried doing a season. No sir. I selected the Cubs and normally my default standings screen is the NL Central. . not now. . . it's now the AL East (remember my first problem?). In addition, the AL West now has the AL All Stars listed in the division. The NL west has the NL All Stars listed. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. We never changed names on the teams. I have no idea what I've done wrong. Please PM me if you would like me to send you the file so you can see what's going on here. Thanks, guys. bhogg
I think I killed the internets. I don't think the young whipper snappers of mvpmods are as fond of the '87 guys as we are. Those are the breaks when you're old and dumb like us.
Hory
You can email me the zipped .mbe file to TotalMVP05@gmail.com if you like and I can have a look, I've been working on the MVP 1994 project myself for nearly a year now, so I might be able to help you. bhogg
I'll do it, man. Your brain may never be the same. Seriously, all I can figure is that we messed up by doing things in phases. For example, we'd do the base 25 man major league rosters with numbers, then send it to the other guy to work on hitter ratings. Then, once he was done with 4 or 5 teams, he'd email it back and on and on. I do appreciate you looking at it.
