I just like Guitar Hero because I suck at real guitar. I'm actually more of a bass man myself. So I feel good playing GH.

pistonj92
What is this thing, guitar hero? A playstation 2 video game in which you have this guitar shaped controller, and you try to press the right button at the right time to play classics such as "Bark at the Moon" or (if your a beginner) "I Love Rock and Roll"
AstroEric
I have to concur with the above statement. Guitar Hero is no fun compared to REALLY playing Bark at the Moon. --Eric
Tidalwav90
not really unless you play with a band, i can play both real and fake and the game can be more fun than JUST a guitar. you get a couple guys together than thats better
mrmariner
So how does this thing work? please give some details.
Tidalwav90
you have a controller shaped like a guitar but a little smaller. on the neck there are five colored buttons (green, red, yellow, blue, orange) and where the strings are there is a little ridge that can be moved up and down with your thumb. its like dance dance revolution when the color comes down the screen to the same colored icon you hold the note and hit the ridge. there are chords (two colored notes at same time) and holds (holding one note for an extended time). there is also a whammy bar (a little stick under the ridge) when a hold comes you can move it and it adds points and changes the pitch of the note. there is also a thing called star power, as you progress certain strings of notes add to your star power meter. when it is half way filled you can tilt your guitar and you enter star mode where you get more points. the whole point of the game is to get through a song by not letting the rock meter empty. so by missing notes and hitting the wrong notes it goes down but by hitting the right notes and using star power to get a boost you can get through a hard solo or an impossible song. there are four modes, easy, medium, hard and expert. there are 30 rock classics and hits to play along to (Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated and Edgar Winter - Frankenstein, among others). in the first mode there is only 25 songs that you can unlock and no bonus songs. in the other modes you can unlock the last 5 shredder songs. in these modes you also get money for getting past songs with various success. this money can be used to buy different guitars, different characters, behind the game videos, and bonus songs from unsigned bands (also one from black label society) thats about it. in the second one coming out in november. there is an improved multiplayer mode where one person can play bass, rythm or lead guitar while the other person pick a different one. there will be new songs and i am personally getting it the day it comes out.
