TheNateGBent
It's an easy fix, but it's really starting to **** me off.
TheNateGBent
To whoever is setting the syetem up on Madden-Mods - I'd seriously advise better password management. If the site can be penetrated multiple times in such a short span of time, there is either a hole in the system or the passwords are pretty bad. THere has to be a hole in the system. I've used insane passwords recently. My last one (not current) was cacacanchaball78215petrio. I'm not kidding. What they are doing is adding a index.html file. Thats it. I assume theres a hole somewhere that allows them to upload that file. This causes a problem, because browsers will open the index.html file before they open the index.php file, which is the normal one. If anyone has any idea's I really need them. If anyone has a huge list of proxies, that'd be great. I really need them. Just the IPs, not the port numbers.
jhath
can you add your own index.html file that would link back to the site so that they cant add one?
Trues
I would check with your host to start. Is this a root server or managed?
TheNateGBent
I can, but I think you can just overwrite them. Good idea, though. @Trues-Managed, I'm looking at getting a serious one at 1&1, but I'm broke and I don't have a credit card Update I've been thinking of changing from CPGnuke to IPB. I'm not sure if it's a problem with CPG, but it seems like it. If it gets hacked one more time, I'll switch. If it continues to get hacked, **** will go down. Second updateIf any of the mods want to learn how to fix the site after it's been hacked, that'd be great. I'm leaving in about ten for a few hours, and it'll definitly go down before I get back. TheNateGBent
I contacted one of the people who hacked the site. It turns out he's a pretty nice guy. He told me how he hacked it, and he told me how to fix it. Long story short; theres a huge vulnerability in FlashChat that allows people to edit files. Sucks, I know. I decided to just remove FlashChat. If I can find out any more about this vulnerability, and possibly a way to secure FlashChat, I'll bring it back. jhath
Just keep it off... I def dont want to take any chances... did they say if they messed with our downloads?
TheNateGBent
Just keep it off... I def dont want to take any chances... did they say if they messed with our downloads? From what he understood, you could only add files to either the home or flashchat directory.
JoeyMcM93
Sorry to hear all this went down...Good luck getting it going again! P.S. I have used IPB before and it is a very nice way to run a site. You will not regret switching to it if you do.

BTW, there's a patch (4.6.2) just released that supposedly fixes this issue. If I were you though, I'd just keep it off. Good luck.

Hoop27
i had a similar problem. you need to actually type "www.madden-mods.com" into your browser. I tried hitting my link in favorites a couple times before I figured that out. you will also have to erase your link in favorties and put it in again. jhath
hmm... what about your rosters.. were you able to save them? also, we're not gonna be able to combine them as planned... you can export default teams but you cant import them into a roster as it doesnt overwrite... we're gonna have to figure out another way to do it... I agree 1,000%. I wouldn't care how nice he was to you, I still would not want anything to do with him anymore. And maybe he was being nice only because he was nervous that you guys found out who it was
