Can't boot into Windows

Ok, so I installed Vista. I liked it a lot, but there are still just too many bugs in the programming. So i wanted to go back to my original XP. I tried to figure out how to uninstall Vista, but that wasn't working. I loaded into the Windows recovery console and used "fixboot" and that was supposed to write a new bootsector to the c:. but now the computer only boots into the recovery console. nothing else. any ideas on how to fix this>?

ok, here's a step by step of what i did.

I rebooted Vista.

I selected "a previous version of Windows" from the boot selection screen

It then loaded into the microsoft recovery console

I selected drive #3 to sign on to it was c:windows

After I loaded into that drive I did the following command "fixboot" and hit enter

The computer says a new boot sector was written to drive "c"

I then typed exit to restart the computer

Now all the computer does is boot strait to the Recovery Console each and every time.

Any Ideas?
