NYM
Now before you say I am crazy, hear me out. I think I might have found a way to turn day games to night games. Kind of like day turning to night in MVP NCAA Baseball 2006. This would only have a use for night games, as night games do not start out in the pitch black. Ok here we go..... We all know we can make graphics that can change. (Like an animated sig). Now I don't know if this can be done, but is it possible to set a time for when you want the graphic to change? Just say you want the graphic to change every 5 seconds or every 5 minutes. If so, we might have something going here. You take the sky graphic from the cram32.fsh file (picture of the cloud, that you can see while playing the game) and then you keep changing that graphic from day, to dusk, and finally to dark. Example: Now we would have to time this perfectly. We would have to find the average time of the game. We would need at least thirty members here play about 10 games, and time the game. That way we can get 300 games in, and get the average time of each game played. Now the tricky part. Just say the average game is 20 minutes. We would have the light clouds stay on for 3 minutes, since it will not stay light at a 7PM game for long. Than after three minutes, change the graphic so that it would turn to dusk. Now this will be probably 2-3 minutes too. Lets say 2 minutes 20 seconds. After 2 minutes and 20 seconds make the dusk clouds be changed into dark clouds. Now we have the sky dark. Next problem. Ads. Ads will have to turn into there night counter part. So here's how this would go. You take all files from the day stadium cram32.fsh file (excluding the clouds) and you put it into the night stadium cram 32.fsh file. Make sure you save the night cram32 files because you will need them. Now this has to be timed perfectly. Once the day clouds get changed into dusk clouds (at 3 minutes) the ads from the day stadium cram32 turn into the ads from the night stadium cram 32. You would have to have the ads change from day ads to night ads at three minutes, just like light to dusk clouds. Now the only unrealistic senario is that the crowd, players, and stadium would have dark shadows for the first "phase" of the game. Meaning when the day clouds are in, it would still appear dark in the stadium. Another problem we can run into is that the cram32.fsh file might become to big, and the game might crash. Well, it might be able to be done. I really don't know. It's just an idea I have been thinking of and thought I would post it on the forums. Maybe if this can't be done, the plan can be modified, and problems can be fixed. Thoughts?
Kccitystar
It would not make sense. Stadium lights would need to be turned on, and it would look wierd.
Campo09
It would not make sense. Stadium lights would need to be turned on, and it would look wierd. I agree but it would be very cool though. I have played about 300-400 games in my mvp career, and i'd say the average time for me is about 30-40 minutes but, i dont swing at everything, and i choose my pitches very carefully. But i dont know what other people take so... But it would be cool.
Hayman19
Well if im not mistaken, the Mariners Park(Safeco Field i believe) has the roof thingy start to close during night games as it always rains in the game. I have a modded stadium so im not sure if it does it anymore, but i know it did. So if you could somehow find the file that makes the roof move and take the amount of time it takes and use that amount of time for the sky(if its even possible) as the roof starts at maybe the 2-3 inning and finishes moving at about 6-7-8 inning(not sure, just estimating). Again, im not quite sure this would be possible, but hey if someone would give it a try that would be great. BTW: Im not even sure that there is an actual roof, but you see the supports sliding behind left center field, so i guess there is
The Big O
The sky cannot be animated other than what is hardcoded into the game, thus this isn't possible. You can stop the animation but the actual mapping to the sky wireframe (sky.o) cannot be animated. You can't add rotation either if it is not called for for that stadium (ie Fenway Dusk) in the tanim.csv file. All animations are hardcoded for each stadium. Cash #25
Couldn't we do this on the stadiums that do allow rotation? I'm not much of a modder, but I did take the night sky from Tiger Stadium and put it into Comerica. That area of light on the horizon would rotate around the perimeter of the park. It rotated too quickly, however, to use the concept for turning day to night. Having messed with some stadium skies, I did discover that you don't need to change signage or stadium lights. You just start with the night stadium and put a day sky up there. When you go to a night game in real life, the lights are on at gametime. At this point in time, I have the Fenway dusk sky in the Comerica night stadium. Looks great. Just wish I could make it rotate into darkness.
