deadmatt
Welcome to another deadmatt dynasty! I haven't even watched baseball for about 4 months because I'm in Australia and i have to watch it on mlb.com and I don't have heaps of time! So here goes nothing i guess! Game Settings: Version: PC using EA Patch #5 Difficulty: All-Star Sliders: Hoop27's MVP 06 Allstar Sliders V2.2 Datafile: MaddiesDaddy V3.1 Rosters: Ultimate Rosters V7.5 Plus Progression: Ron Mexico's Progression mod V5.1 Other: StrikeZone ON / Hot Colds OFF / Pitch Cursor FADE / Fielding MANUAL In-House Rules: There won't be too many trades happening during the season because I want to build from within. Also i really don't want many older players on my team, if they are on the team you can assume that they are there to be mentors or they are guiding the younger players. D-Unit
Why are you rushing up Marcos Vechionacci and Philip Hughes? Looks interesting.
TwentySeven
You have extremely poor hitting but way stacked pitching. IMO, you need a friendly balance of the two. Whatever, I'll watch.
GEOLINK
Dude if it's Youth, try having Yankees youth pitching... not All Stars.
deadmatt
Dude if it's Youth, try having Yankees youth pitching... not All Stars. I Spose i could chuck Phil Hughes in the starting rotation but i mean Kris Kiefel is only 19 and hes pretty sweet on the mound!
deadmatt
Games 1 - 3: New York Yankees @ Oakland Athletics Yanks take 2 out of 3 Above: Pena hit 1 Home Run in the series against the A's Game 1: Well it was the way every team wanted to started out their season, with a blow out victory against one of their AL East "buddies". In game 1 the Yanks sent rookie 19 yr old pitcher Kris kiefel to the mound to start his first career MLB start with the Yankees. Kiefel threw 7 complete innings allowing 11 hits but only giving away 1 run and picked up 6 strikeouts. But it wasn't just Keifel's first MLB game it was also Matt Davis, Josh Vaughn, Mark McDill & Marcos Vechionacci's first career MLB games and none of them disappointed in game 1 especially with Matt Davis going 3 for 5 with 3 runs, 1 HR and 1 RBI. But then again Josh Vaughn's Grand Salami in the first inning was probably the highlight of the night for everyone. Game 2: After shattering the Athletic's hearts in game 1 the Yanks were on a high and came out the following day with alot of confidence under their belt. This was definately something that Tim Wakefield enjoyed when he threw all his Knuckleballs down at the batters scoring 9 strikeouts in 7 innings. Wakefield was sucessful in holding the Bronx Bombers to just 3 runs in those 7 innings before Wickman and Rincon closed it out for the Athletic's win. Continuing on from game 1 though were the highlight reels of Matt Davis and Josh Vaughn who both hit Home Runs in their second game of their career and both of them scored their second Home Run in as many games. Even though Pedro Martinez was on the mound he was helpless in what he could do to stop the bats of the Athletic's. In the end he only threw 57 pitches before Joe Torre pulled him from the mound and send out Jonathan Papelbon. Game 3: Game 3 of the 3 game series was probably the closest and most faught after game with both sides scoring 5 runs after 9 innings which sent them into the 10th where the Bronx Bombers were able to capitalize and over run the Oakland A's After having some of the younger players sitting in the lime light the past 2 nights it was Wily Mo's time to shine. Pena picked up a nice 3 for 5 tonight with 3 RBIs, 2 Runs and a Homer which lifted the Yanks up over the A's in the 10th inning. Following in Pedro's footsteps it was Dontrelle's time to shine on the mound but wasn't so pleased with his efforts going 7 innings with 7 hits, 4 Runs allowed and 2 Strike outs. K-Rod picked up his first save of the season tonight and was pitching with awesome power and precision which Joe Torre seemed to like in the young kid. Yankee Talk: Davis: "I can't believe that I'm actually playing in the major leagues, i thought it would have been atleast another 15 years before i even got into the AAA team." Willis: "I went crap through Spring Training and now it's showing in my first game this season, if i can't turn it around it's gonna be a long year ahead."
