well, no one is forcing you to join hory...

But will he stick around and continue to do portraits, audios, and other stuuff if the site is flooded with NBA, NHL, & NFL crap.

It is a double edge sword, I would think the best thing to do would be to keep this site as it is and open a new site to cover everything else

On the other hand if the site turned off new user registration it might work. My fear is people having to deal with all the new personalities that will join for the NBA, NHL, & NFL mods.

My thought here is, why let this amazing community die along with MVP

If the NBA, NHL, & NFL modders join the site it is no longer "this amazing community". It would be a completely new community and the MVP one would have been killed. Stopping new user registration solves that problem

True, on top of that we'd have new members from other communities who will try to trash our work or efforts for MVP, but that's another story. I can't stick around and work on uniform updates and whatnot if the site gets overwhelmed with other sports.

let's stick to what makes this site unique, and that's MVP baseball mods.

So does Arenacenter too (www.arenacenter.net)

Yeah you've logged on there once or twice, right Totte.

( Sorry a little off topic)

I think that this is a good idea as long as bandwith-wise it could happen.

Well, then by your own theory, the other site for everything else wouldnt work because it would be flooded with other stuff. But, i disagree with the flooded to begin with. Most of this depends on the layout. I envisioned this being one big site with 4 subsites for the corresponding game. That way, if you didn't want to see the NHL stuff, you dont have to. Or maybe an option in the my account menu that would let you ignore complete forums for other games. That eliminates the flooding real quick.

Not really, because we all know those people get banned really quickly. Again, read my earlier thoughts. If done properly, you wouldnt even have to know theres more to the site than mvp.

On the new site yes, I just got my login to work. I'm still a member of the crew there if that's what you're asking.

Sorry for hijacking the thread

I'm on KC's and Hory's side -- I like how this site soley focuses on MVP. If we added other games to this site, the downloads would be flooded with lame stuff, like helmet templates and rosters, the only 'mods' that exist for Madden. Adding NHL and NBA mods would be futile as well, because better sites already exist for modding those games; there'd be too much catching up on our part to get to a level where we're at with MVP. We're the best baseball modding website on the planet -- it would take an insane amount of work to get to that level with NBA and NHL mods.

KC and I were talking about this last night, how nice it would be if we could mod every single EA Sports game, and there's no doubt in our minds that we can do it. In fact, I began my 'career' modding NHL 2003. But I still think it'd be a bad idea to merge those other games in with this site.

But then again, I didn't read a majority of this thread, so I really don't know what the thinking is or what the plans might be...

EDIT: I just read a little more of the thread. I also agree with Kraw. Can't forget Kraw.

One of the things that makes this site so unique and nice is that it's only for mvp, and it also makes the quality of the mods better. If there's all the other games, people will be donig everything at once, and it'll most likely lower the quality of the work. If you want to make a whole mvp "network", go ahead i guess. But keep this particular site how it is, only for baseball. If it wasn't for this site being focused on mvp and mvp only, i probably would have eventually lost interest, and eventually forgot about it. Keep it how it is, it's great how it is, and my opinion is that it'll only go down if you do what you're proposing.

So that was my dissertation for now...

Um, who's going to trash your work? Lemme count, no one.

Most rosters are lame downloads, how many lame *** roster SAVs did this site have in 2004. These were in game edits, they were not even smart enough to use MVPedit. They finally stopped doing them after I went to each and everyone of their homes and asked them ever so nicely to stop waisting my GD time

maybe a poll could be added to this thread so Trues could get an idea of how many people are actually for this.

As for my opinion, I say stick with MVP. This sight will become overwhelmed by other EA sports. It will collapse under its own weight.

Go around to other modding sites and you will see some pretty good work being trashed by other jealous modders

Read my Total MLB thread in it's entirety and you can see the hate, however those people were banned

That is bullcrap treatment.

Anyway, I like the idea mentioned by jhath about being able to filter other forums out. Chage may be good. Another option is to let this die out. An option I thought of last night was to offer money to EA for their source code.

I for one have learnt that when I am truly happy with something I try to enjoy it to IT's Fullest.

Although, I do attempt to make it the very best at what it essentially is that is making me so damn happy.

But I avoid "Like the Plague" - trying to turn it into something it is not.

I visit this site because of the value it brings to me relative to my true love of Baseball ............ NOT Football, not Basketball, not Soccer, not NASCAR; NOT Wresting !!! But - BASEBALL !!!

There are many other sites that focus on a multitude of sports and I am sure they have some great information somewhere hidden deep within them ..... but why mess with spagetti when you can enjoy a great Prime Rib!

"I'll hang up and listen".

I fail to see what this topic has to do with me but anyway Mo

I wanted a shorter name

I wanted to make tools for all EA games

I wanted MVPlanet to be gone

I wanted to confuse Uncle Mo
