UncleMo
I'm using the Texas Rangers, have a well stocked team, in the third game of the WS right now, and when this season is done I'm thinking of uninstalling, reinstalling and doing just one last dynasty. The other half of me wonders why when I have a well stocked team NOW. I've played may seasons, simmed some, and now my young talent I've drafted/traded for is taking dominance in the league. So, my question to you is how many seasons do you usually play before quitting in your dynasty?
fred13
I played one with they angels where i went 12 or 13 seasons deep, mostly simming and doing front office stuff. Since then, the longest dynasty I've has has been 3 seasons.
getemmj
Yea I have done 4 seasons once but then I just want to quit and build another team into a powerhouse starting with the players that are actually on the team in real life.
BrooklynNets24
I really dont liek deep dynastys because all the young pitcher have fastballs that reach 100 MPH
SwinginSoriano
Just one. I play until I get eliminated in the playoffs or when the dynasty file gets corrupted. I used to similate some insanely long manager mode dynasties though.
brutushayesosu
I did 5 owner mode seasons. But that was on the xbox and had 3 roommates playing along with me. NYM
I'm coming out with a mod (no specifi date, but before the 2007 season) that will hopefully revive the excitemtn with people who play owner mode/dynasty,

abc006
I have played an owner mode, actually i'm still playing it, and it's about 10 season in with the yanks. a-rod has 800 hrs, jeter 3000 hits, sheff is with the orioles, matsui has 350 hrs, even though he's 40, i've got a cf who broke ricky henderson's single-season stolen base record, i traded for scott kazmir who has like a 1.90 era... but then i've started about 15 fantasy draft dynastys that have lasted for about 5 games, so... SwinginSoriano
Possibly he's editting the .loc files?
rolliefingers08
like the one that came out awhile ago that never really got updated. i've been thinking about editing my own game to match what that file did, not all of what it had, but some of it, because it added enjoyment to the game with terms like "designate for assignment" and just little changes like that. ronmexico
If you want a mod that will replenish talent, you can find one here... http://mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Download...details&id=3421 Also, leave some feedback or some advice here... http://mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Forums&f...ht=progress.big I found it useful and so did some other people so I figured if you guys want to play more seasons, this might be the answer. kgbaseball
Ron, do you still find young pitchers having 100mph fastballs with your mod?
ronmexico
Sadly, that I didn't take into account, but I will look into that right this second, though I really doubt I can change that.
ronmexico
You know what? I just realized something...If you want, I can create it that rookies don't throw as hard, so I guess they won't progress to throw 103 for every young pitcher. I don't know if this is what you want, but I suppose I can change that. I will look into it more in a couple minutes though, answer me on that front though. PS. Sorry for the double post, but it wont let me edit the last message.
kgbaseball
Ideally, making it to most players top out around 88-92 would be perfect. Having a rookie only throwing low 80's so they don't end up throwing 100mph gas doesn't really solve a problem; it just creates another one. I don't know much if anything about the progress.big file, but I wish you luck. It's an extremely important part of dynasties.
ronmexico
I can make a mod, I suppose especially for you, that will make pitchers progress worse if you want, cause now that I have discovered that CSV files open with Excel, my life is a lot easier. STUPID STUPID STUPID ME. I feel so dumb having done the mod in wordpad, I killed some hours there, lol. Hindsight is 20/20 though. I know it will progress the pitchers worse, but not being sure about the velocity.
kgbaseball
I've only played one dynasty longer than 2 years, and that was the Padres, and Peavy was throwing 100 after the 2nd year. That was on PS2 when the game first came out, so there was no mods or anything for it. I haven't played a dynasty even a year in length since then, so I can't tell you how to improve your mod very well. I'm sure other people would be interested in slower progressing pitchers; speaking of, how fast to position players progress?
ronmexico
Well, from my experience, a AAA player can reach the majors in a couple of years, AA a year or 2 more, and A player in about 5 or 6 if your lucky. Also, the mod is actually age dependant, cause players have peaks between 27-31 so it capitalizes on that. And young players can evolve wen they're young, so they can gain attributes then, but not as much as in a players prime.
kgbaseball
Interesting; that sounds much more realistic than the stock file. I'm not requesting changes or anything, but I would be interested to see what you can do with pitchers.
