Lual
just about to start a LA Dodgers dynasty (using GFORCE 4 minors) so heres why i would like some help please: you lot may think im sad, but when i play mvp in dynasty mode, i dont just play the games, i get involved, adding my own commentry / interviews / thinking like a fan etc - so rather than play lose DOh, play win wooHoo, i get into the game like a GM and make it a bit more. so to help, i am currently creating a website based on my Dodgers, similar to dynastymanager.com, but more involved, unique and including a TV section, where i record highlights of matches, player clips, rivalry buildups etc. what i would like from u guys is the following: Dodgers Fans: what you think of the current setup? whos the stars on the roster? future stars? current vs past dodgers teams? favourite past players? rivalries - teams that all dodgers hate? where you think LA will be over the next 5 years? WCS or doldrums? General fans: what you think of the dodgers? any players you hate? are the dodgers potentially the next yankees? big city - crap club? where you think LA will be over the next 5 years? WCS or doldrums? do neutrals cheer for dodgers? cheers all every post appreciated Lual
rolie
dodgers number are 1 the best fans every year, drawing the 3 million mark, We have the best GM now, Owner is still new but at least he goes to his games. yankee fans are retarded bandwagon fronters, seriously how can you liike the yankees, the owner doesn't even allow facial hair! fronters unless you are from new york. New York Yankees=Fake fans unless you were born there! I love seeing them choke in the playoffs. well at least they make it there lolz Mets fans have balls unlike the yankee fans. Marlins fans never show up to games Angels fans are fronters- unless you from anaheim Brewers fans havin good year. LOL yankees going down in the world series, weaver Fever !!!! if the dodgers get an arm then we have a chance, Wher are all these yankee fans gonna be in a few years? routing for the dodgers of course! bigbully
current setup is great - only change I would make is get rid of Nomo and pick up another SP Stars - Gagne, Beltre, Lo Duca, Izturus Future Stars - Edwin Jackson, Koyie Hill 88 Dodgers! Steve Garvey was my hero growing up (I know a lot happened later in his personal life but we're talking baseball). I also loved The Bulldog and Pete Guerrero Hate - Yankees! Outlook is good for the next 5 years! Fans are awesome (and geographically widespread) can't stand Derek Jeter - dude is awesome but his cockiness kills me the next Yankees? Hopefully back to the hayday of LA and NY lore big city crap? Since I live in the South, I can't really answer this one I think the Dodgers are well respected throughout MLB
Zephyr
what you think of the dodgers? -Dodgers are a good team that's overachieving this year. Their offense has finally come alive, but they need Green to stop sucking. any players you hate? -Hating players in this age of baseball and sports is utterly silly. Someone you "hate" could end up on your team. are the dodgers potentially the next yankees? -No. Not a chance. The ownership is a bunch of tightwads. big city - crap club? -Up until this year, they've been pretty sad. They are in a big city, have a big fanbase, usually sell out the stadium, they need to upgrade their team with more aggressiveness. where you think LA will be over the next 5 years? -That depends on what the Giants and Padres do. do neutrals cheer for dodgers? Neutrals cheer for whoever has the prettier uniform, or who's winning, or whoever has the guy with a cool last name. Who cares if they cheer for the Dodgers? I wouldn't want neutrals cheering for my team. And rolie: I don't know you, but you shouldn't generalize people like that. Makes you look unintelligent. rolie
generalization of what! yankee fans? are fake! so are Angels fans, A genberalization, I'm going from experience BRO lolz of any yankee or angel fan out here in LA, I talk baseball with most anyone i meet. 1) most friends of mine that are either yankee fans or Angels fans, can't name me three players from each team. or their previous coach 2) All these Angels fans just like the Mighty Ducks fans, They are all along for the ride, Look at the Mighty Ducks, went to the cup, fans were all tight right?, now they are all gone. 3) dodgers fans have always packed their seats, They are the best fans! They get tp 3 million every year! It may no tbe the pretiest stadium but people are true fans. makes me look unintelligent? I could care less what people think of me, im not a politician lolz, just a dodger fan that hates the yankees and yankee fans! whats wrong with that? I love seeing em get beat by teams that have not even half their payroll and seeing a bunch of my fake yankee fan friends get so hurt, LOLZ, but they win mostly cuz they make the playoffs, but maybe not this year if we can get Fernando out of retirement?!?! lolzzzz

qwert
hey Zephyr, what do you think that Big B from Rolie's avatar stands for? lol but he's not totally wrong though. A lot of the yankees fans are bandwagon jumpers. I respect their older fans. But the young ones... ask them who was their 1st baseman before 96 and they would say Tino. im surprised the Dodgers can draw more than 3 mil as someone said here. The impression i get is that every time i turn on their games their bleachers were empty. And seems like their fans do have the tendency to arrive late and leave early. Plus baseball is not even the #1 sports in LA.. so dont think the dodgers will ever be the next yanks. as for their chances this year, I like the Padres better. Better starting pitching and offense. Bullpen i will give the dodgers the edge. But seems like they never hit enough to go anywhere. Liked the Bradley pickup in the spring.. he could be a solid player for years to come if he can keep his head straight.
bigbully
Dodgers fans no longer leave early - why? GAGNE! As for getting there late - yeah, it happens lol
Wolverineman
what you think of the dodgers? I don't mind the Dodgers. Cubs only play'em 2 times a year and the games are pretty good. I'm personally rooting for the Padres out west but don't have any problems with the Dodgers. Would definatelly root for them over the Cards/WSox/Yanks in the playoffs. any players you hate? Not really. Well, I've never been a very big fan of Nomo. Other than that I can't think of anyone I don't like. are the dodgers potentially the next yankees? Eh, I don't think so. If they went a major binge and added $50mil then yes, but I don't see them doing it. big city - crap club? The last few years they seem to have made some bad moves, but they appear headed in the right direction now. where you think LA will be over the next 5 years? WCS or doldrums? Assuming their GM doesn't make many mistakes, they should be doing well. Gagne should keep them in it by himself as long as he doesn't leave/go insane/die or something. They have enough money to stay competitive. They have some very good prospects that should evolve into very good players(Jackson, Miller, and some young SS that was in the futures games) do neutrals cheer for dodgers? The average person will root for them against the Yankees. Against other teams I don't know, it depends on the person I guess.

If you don't start liking a team when it's in last place, then you're a FAKE and should be SHOT.

texo
Personally I have a team from each of the six divisions that I am a big fan of and that is it. I have stuck with them forever, I don't change teams because they win and I certainly hate the stupid Yankees. Always been a Mets fan and always will be. LA has never impressed me as of late, sure I think 88 was one of the greatest WS ever. Nomo was a flash in the pan, and a real joke now. I agree get another SP in place of Nomo. Sorry but I like SF alot in the west, I've always been a person known to chant BEAT LA, BEAT LA! And I am from the south where I like the Braves because I always have not because they have reigned over their division for more than a decade. I like the Twins and the Rangers and the Blue Jays in the AL divisions. I was a Blue Jay fan before they ever even came close to winning a division or going to the World Series, much less win two straight. And I love the Rangers even when they have finished last in their division many times. Hey they have a chance this year! As for LA's future I don't know, they have to contend with SF and the Pads and both of those teams show just as much if not more promise. As for Rolie's comments I totally agree, Yankee fans are rediculous and fake, not a generalization but FACT. I ask them who Chuck Knoblauch was and they don't even know he played baseball much less that he played for "their" stinkin team. All of that said I think LA will be in the post season this year, just my prediction. I think they will probably win their division and SF will get the wild card. St. Louis and Texas in the World Series 2004, lets hope so. Go Rangers!
