I wouldn't delete him. Play with Lidle on your team. Think of it as a tribute to him.

That's what I'm doing. Like I said before, MVP is supposed to be an escape for reality.

Hey it looks really good right now. The coverage is very indepth. How do you get realistic pitch counts? Do you throw a lot of balls on purpose or are foul balls set to high?

Yea I think I'll try the +50 foul ball when I get home. I play with a keyboard so I never miss the strikezone unless I specifically do it myself. Maybe that's why it's hard for me to get realistic pitch counts. The CPU generally swings often at my pitches. I currently have CPU swing frequency to -45 and they don't swing as much. But this results in a lot of strikeouts looking.

Apr 11 - Home Opener 2006 ended the same way that the New York Yankees' 2006 Season Opener did - squeaking out with a 3-2 victory, this time over the Kansas City Royals. But this time, it was a walkoff, a game winning sac fly by Derek Jeter to score Robinson Cano from second in a wacky turn of events all afternoon.

It was a pitcher's duel all day long, but an unlikely one where Scott Elarton (ND) almost matched exact stats with Mike Mussina of the Yanks through 6 1/3 innings of work. Elarton allowed six hits, Mussina 5. Elarton was charged with two runs as was Mussina. Moose had one walk and four strikeouts, and Elarton fanned four, permitting three walks.

The Yankees seemed to start off very strong when solo shots by Jason Giambi and Jorge Posada bookended the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. But an Angel Berroa RBI single in the fourth and a bases-empty blast by Reggie Sanders in the sixth made it a 2-all game.

Andy Sisco (0-1) relieved Elarton with one out in the seventh, and retired the side with a bit of a struggle, a Johnny Damon two out single. But he shut the Yankees down in the eighth and ninth innings in order. The road seemed a little rockier for the Yankees, however. After Mussina retired Mike Sweeney, lefty specialist Mike Myers struck out Joey Gathright on 9 pitches, he allowed a Reggie Sanders triple into the gap to nearly take the lead. But flamethrower Brian Bruney came in to face Doug Mientkiewicz, who lined a fastball down the third base line. Alex Rodriguez made a nice snag with his glove, coincidentally landing on third base to double off a helpless Sanders, and brought a cheer from the sellout crowd.

Mariano Rivera (1-0) threw a perfect ninth inning, but allowed a one out base hit to leadoff man David DeJesus in the tenth inning. But his nasty cutter got Mark Grudzielanek to induce a 6-6-3 double play to kill the threat.

The bottom of the tenth began with a Robinson Cano booming double to right center, driving the crowd nuts. Boos came after, as Johnny Damon was intentionally walked to face Derek Jeter. Joel Peralta emerged from the bullpen to face him, and the first pitch was lined to medium right field, which moved Cano to third. But Cano took a large turn past third, which helped a lot as the throw from right sailed over the head of third baseman Mark Teahen, allowing Cano to score and give the Yankees a walkoff win to send the crowd home happy.

The Yankees took a tough loss today, a final score of 8-7, to the Toronto Blue Jays in an AL East matchup. It was a roller coaster ride, as the Yankees had a small early lead, lost by a disastrous display of defense, then regained by an offensive splurge. But then the bullpen relinquished the lead once and for all.

It all started in the first when Derek Jeter took Ted Lilly (ND) deep on an 0-1 pitch over the left field wall for a 1-0 lead. It was all they got through the first four innings. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays put up a six spot on Chien-Ming Wang in the bottom half of the first.

Alex Rios started the inning with a single, and Frank Catalanotto bunted him over to second. Vernon Wells then singled him in to tie the game. Troy Glaus and Bengie Molina singled, the second hit loading the bases. Russ Adams hit a grounder to third, fielded and thrown well by Alex Rodriguez. But Giambi couldn't hold on to it, and everyone was safe with the Jays up 2-1.

And then all hell broke loose.

Aaron Hill took a weak check swing at one of Wang's 95 mph two-seam fastballs. It rolled through the legs of Wang, to Robinson Cano. He fielded and fired to first, but once again, Giambi didn't even reach for the ball. It sailed over his head and ran up and along the wall on the first base line. Everyone came around to score, including Hill himself, though a hustling and bustling Bobby Abreu nearly gunned him down at the plate. The score was now 6-1, with Wang only earning two of those runs. He then popped up Reed Johnson and struck out Joey Metropolous to end the nightmare.

Natural baseball took over as zeroes were traded between Lilly and Wang until the fifth, when the Yankees offense clicked on all cylinders. Four consecutive singles from Hideki Matsui, Jorge Posada, Robinson Cano, and Johnny Damon put two runs across the plate (one by Cano, the other from Damon) to cut the deficit to 6-3. Derek Jeter then flied out, and Bobby Abreu hit into a fielder's choice, seeming that the inning might end. But then Alex Rodriguez lined a two run single to left to make it only 6-5, which prompted Jays manager John Gibbons to remove Lilly in favor of Scott Downs (1-1). Three pitches later, the last featuring a hanging curveball to Jason Giambi, was slugged to the tune of 450 feet to left center field to give the Yankees a 7-6 lead.

Wang (6 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 2 ER, 4 K) threw a scoreless sixth before being removed for Scott Proctor. Proctor did not have his stuff or control, as Alex Rios led off with a single, and one out later came home on a Vernon Wells double into the gap to tie it at 7. Troy Glaus grounded out, but then Benige Molina singled in Wells to give the Blue Jays the lead again. Proctor retired the next four batters he faced in the seventh and the eighth.

Meanwhile, Downs (2.1 IP, 3 H,2 K) tossed a scoreless sixth and seventh while Brandon League (IP, H) did the same in the eighth. B.J. Ryan then threw a scoreless ninth for his first save of the season.

I am gonna play a game against the Devil Rays when my CD drive works again. It goes on and off with working whenever it feels like it, so I can't make up a timetable of when I can play.
