Who's B. Hitchcock, and was he really that bad?

Billy Hitchcock's rookie year was 1942 with Detroit. He was originally signed by the Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1939. In 9 seasons he hit .243, hit 5 home runs (no more than 1 in any season), and drove in 257 (highest was 54 in 1950).

He led the AL in GIDP with 30 in 1950.

The Rockies defense showed up to play, making a bid for a web gem in just about every inning. One such

play was a diving stop by Eric Young on a Bill Madlock grounder in the fourth, shown here throwing out

Madlock from his knees. Another came with the bases loaded in the fifth, when with one out the Rockies

turned a double play. Andres Galarraga is shown here stretching to finish the twin killing.

the word is future, given the time period. lol

either way it was pretty funny - he did the pissed off animation where he slaps at the bat on his way out of the box. he had the same look on his face as he did when the mets exploded for all those runs at wrigley earlier this year. all that was missing was a toothpick :D
