kjb23
I don't want to shock anybody, but it appears Kerry Wood will start the season on the DL after feeling shoulder "discomfort" after yesterday's appearance.
eggmanchris
Bonds will hit third. Are you going to put out an update anytime soon? Like Opening Day Rosters?
kgbaseball
Bonds will hit third. Are you going to put out an update anytime soon? Like Opening Day Rosters? I'm thinking a day or two after Opening Day, so I can get all teams' lineups right. And then there will be another version a week or two later with all minor leaguers on their respective teams, hopefully. I have to trim the rosters down a lot, as there are still too many players on a lot of teams. Hopefully there will be cuts a plenty this week so I can make some teams smaller. Hey bro, are you planning on releasing an xbox version of those rosters? That'd be amazing man!
kjb23
Kg judging by your avatar you may already know this, but the Marlins announced their starting CF will be someone named Alejandro De Aza. I have no idea who that is or if he's even in the rosters. Also the Cubs released former 1st round draft pick Bobby Brownlie.
WinnieThaPujols
kg, After you release those Opening Day rosters, is it going to include those minor league salary edits that we've been talking about? I wanna spend a week or so playing around getting some sliders ready, and then I hope to start some Dynasties soon.
kgbaseball
De Aza played in AA last year, and I've now got him penciled in as the starting CF, batting 8th. It's a bad move by the Marlins, as they're basically putting in a younger version of Eric Reed to play. De Aza could use another year or two in the minors. Anyways, Winnie, I already included the minor league salary edits into the last update. Want me to send you what I have now to see if we're talking about the same thing? kjb23
Thanks for the info on De Aza, kg. On the Cubs front, Mark Prior was sent down to Triple-A, along with OF Angel Pagan and RP Rocky Cherry. With 28 players left on the roster, Kerry Wood, Buck Coats, and Juan Mateo are expected to start the season on the DL, leaving the final 25: C Michael Barrett, Henry Blanco 1B Derrek Lee, Daryle Ward 2B Mark DeRosa, Ryan Theriot SS Cesar Izturis, Ronny Cedeno 3B Aramis Ramirez LF Matt Murton, Cliff Floyd CF Alfonso Soriano RF Jacque Jones SP Carlos Zambrano SP Ted Lilly SP Jason Marquis SP Rich Hill SP Wade Miller RP Angel Guzman RP Neal Cotts RP Michael Wuertz RP Will Ohman RP Scott Eyre RP Bobby Howry CP Ryan Dempster
Cash #25
Marcus Thames will open the season as Detroit's backup firstbaseman. Edwin Campusano, who was on the verge of making the team, is having TJ surgery and will be out for the year.
kgbaseball
I'm assuming it's a no brainer that Detroit will keep him then? It's nice that they can just put him on the 60 day DL for the whole season, and then he can start next season wherever they want him. thr33niL
Chris Burke has officially beat out Rene Rivera for the backup catcher job in Seattle. Jeremy Reed has also been sent to AAA along with Rivera. Seems Morse will most likely make the team out of camp.
kgbaseball
I saw that little bit of news earlier today and made the changes. Hard to see why Burke beat out Rivera. I suppose it doesn't really matter anyways since Johjima will get the bulk of the playing time. Does this look right for the M's lineups? By rule, next spring he would again be under Rule 5 status. Darned good looking young pitcher.

thr33niL
The Mariner's backp catcher is Jaime Burke. Chris Burke is in Houston.. Haha.. I just caught that. Considering the guy has never broke camp with a big league club, you can't blame me for botching his name. From what I've seen of the guy he is a good candidate for a backup role. He is good defensively all the way around and has some good patience at the plate. He won't be hitting the cover off the ball but is serviceable. This will give Rivera a chance to play everyday in AA.

You pretty much got it though. Morrow is going to break camp with the big club. There is a rumor that Ordonez will get the nod over Morse since he is a defensive specialist and mainly because Ben Broussard is doing so well in the OF. That is pretty much why Jeremy Reed got sent to AAA as well. Also the word is that Woods will be sent to Tacoma as well and Sean White will make the club as the long relief man. fred13
Not sure if it was mentioned, but Overbay will bat second for the Jays and Okha and Zambrano have the 4 and 5 spots in the rotation respectively.
