DodgerBlue08
Just like the title, is it possible to adjust how the CPU sets up defensively against certain hitters? Ive tried using MVP edit to change the hitters spray charts, thinking it may be linked to that, but still no change by the CPU. They put on shifts for just about every hitter in the game, and its a bit unrealistic I think. Sure its justified when facing some hitters, but against others, the D generally should line up straight away, or perhaps shading a few steps for LH or RH hitters. However these shifts in the game are taking away all of the doubles into the gap you normall see. For instance for a RH batter, the CF is shaded into the left center gap, and the RF is shifted over into the right center gap. It leaves little room to pull a double down the line, considering the 3B is only a few steps from the line and the LF is there ready to take the carom off the wall. Not to mention the defensive alignment tends to bunch the infielders together on either side of the diamond, so you have to hit a rocket to sneak it through the 6 hole.... you hardly ever seeing those bleeders rolling through the infield with the way its setup currently. Anyway, I just did a lot of blabbing for really no reason! Haha. Anywho, anyone knows what the CPU looks at when adjusting the D? Thanks!
DodgerBlue08
Sorry to bump my own post, but its been about a month, and still havent really figured anything out. Does anyone know what file/stats the computer looks at to determine where to place the fielders?
Campo09
This Will Help You A Bunch I know that you edit the Datafile, I am pretty sure there is a tutorial on how to do that.
DodgerBlue08
After searching again and reading through Maddies posts, ive learned a bit about how to position the fielders based on each setting, but my main question, i still cant find an answer for... or am probably just overlooking it What does the game use to determine in which defensive setting to put the players? Obviously things like doubly play, or guard the lines, or infield in is based on timing. But what about just against certain players? When Furcal is up for example, they put on a large shift, and bring the outfielders in, and the infielders to almost halfway to prevent bunts or slap hits. So what does the game use to tell them that is how to play against Furcal?
