weasel1238
I have been playing MVP 2005 since it had hit the shop shelves. Over the last 3 weeks, I started to have serious graphic problems when I play the game. When having MVP on, after a few minutes, the screen starts gets all messed up, with a lot of lines all over the screen (just like a very old projector movie). Sometimes, if I leave the game idle for a few seconds, these lines go away, and I manage to keep on playing MVP. But most of the time, the game minimizes on the desktop, and I get the following message: The nv4_disp display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine, a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft. Then, if I try to click on Setting in the Display Properties, the following message comes up: Invalid display settings The currently detected graphics display driver can not be used. It was written for a previous version of windows and is no longer compatible with this version of windows. The system has been started using the default VGA driver. I then tried to reinstall the game and graphic drivers, but still have the same problem. Can anybody help? I'm goin' nuts without my MVP
Mav3rek
make sure you have the latest greatest up to date video drivers for your video card... also, does it happen with other games as well, or only just with MVP... it kinda sounds like a video card problem itself.... I did update the video driver a while ago, but nvidia hasn't released another upgrade yet. But, Im still going to download it again, maybe the nv4_disp file got corrupted. To be honest, I don't have that much time to play video games.....I only have 1 (lucky if I get 2) hour a day, and MVP is the only game I have been playing since MLB's opening day. weasel1238
Installed the latest driver and the same thing happened. Something must be wrong. Because I had reinstalled the graphics card drivers and i have tried the game with all the default accessories (fresh installation of MVP) and it happened. Damn. weasel1238
This is what's happening everytime I play MVP. I have uninstalled the game and graphics driver. Reinstalled MVP and reinstalled the latest graphics driver. Same thing happened. This also happened to me when I reinstalled MVP and played with original files and with original graphics driver. It used to work before. Any ideas????
krawhitham
does other games have the same problems? sounds like the video card is over heating, pop open the case and clean out all the fans inside. It is either an over heating video card, the power supply is not strong enough, or you need a new video card
cfree8988
Well if it was me I would make sure I didn't install any new hardware in the pc and if not then reinstall Windows. If that doesn't fix it then try a new video card because it looks more like a hardware error when the video card starts to work hard, also make sure the card isn't coming loose in the motherboard slot and also that if your card has a fan built onto it that is still spins correctly, I've seen this caused also by overheating. Hope that helps. Edit: oops krawhitham said that already.

I only have 1 hour to play video games, and so, I stick with mvp. I'll try other games out to see if it does the same. I'll also try cleaning the fans. Fingers crossed that it works
ezdriver
Since you don't play any other games, it's really hard to judge against any other gaming conditions. But with the line pattern you display, I had the same thing happen to my system a couple years back, and it was the video card. It would be helpful if you had another card you could swap-out. If it doesn't happen with the new card, there's your answer. ez

I hope that I don't have to reinstall Windows. But anyway, I'll check out the things you've suggested, and then if nothing works......I'll buy a new computer. I was going to buy one in 9months time anyway.

weasel1238
Is that Darth Vader behind home plate? :starwars: Geez, I just noticed now. Hehehe. Looks kinda funny :starwars: But when it happens while you're playing the game and you get all the problems I'm having at the moment, it's not that funny
