Alright, let me chime in with a few comments on various topics...

Difficulty Level

I've found in most EA Sports games, this typically tends to be true: the highest difficulty (eg: All-Madden, or MVP, in this case) tends to the be hardest, not necessarily the most realistic. The difficult a step below it (eg: All-Pro, or, All-Star in this case), tends to be the most realistic, while still offering more challenge than the two below it. I think that holds true here.

I find that on All-Star you can actually get the computer to chase fastballs up in the zone, whereas in MVP that doesn't really seem possible, which I think is dumb.

Sliders

Second, I feel that sliders are absolutely vital to gameplay. I do massive slider editing... CPU Power, for instance, I have jacked up to something like +35. My power, though, is at -20... I get way too many bloop hits, so my Human Contact slider is at -15... so while I'm playing on All-Star, I have a lot of sliders that are favoring the computer, so it's more difficult than you might think.

Hitter's Eye

Hitter's Eye is a good idea, in principle, but in hindsight, it sucks.

First of all, it's ridiculous that you see the pitch before the pitcher throws it. You should either see the grip the pitcher is holding, or the rotation of the ball while it's in the air -- not both.

And it makes great players a lot easier to hit. If a hitter could tell the difference between a changeup and a fastball, Fernando Rodney would be out of a job. Johan Santana wouldn't be the league's best pitcher. Trevor Hoffman wouldn't be the all-time save leader. See where I'm going with this?

Plus, look at a guy like Brad Lidge. This year he's possibly tipping his pitches, but let's look at the 2004 Brad Lidge: do you think that hitters knew what pitch was coming as he was in his windup? It's asinine to think that's the case. With a pitcher like Lidge, the slider and the fastball look pretty much the same coming in. His slider has such late break that you pretty much have to guess what pitch he's throwing, because it's near impossible to evaluate and then swing, since it has that late break...

Hitter's eye off. It turns good pitchers into average ones, and is totally unrealistic.

I will concede that Hitter's Eye has a lot of potential, though. If a hitter's had an "eye" rating that allowed them to see a pitch better, that would be awesome. For instance, a low rating would prevent a hitter from seeing a pitch with any regularity... or maybe pitcher's have a "deceptiveness" rating or something, that allowed them to "mask" pitches so that they all looked the same.

That would make each hitter/pitcher feel really unique. If done correctly, it would be exponentially superior to what's in place now. I think the current implementation is horrifically flawed.

I play on MVP with MD's Datafile v3.1 (harder pitching meter/no green)

I get real stats for every player and for every season I've played.

I've had a .700 Wpct with NYY and I've been .500 with KC.

Try playing with my sliders and tell me what you think.

I don't see how you do it unless you're using Hitter's Eye...

put your games on MVP no hitter's eye + or - any tuning u feel needs it depending on how your cpu decides to act ...but put pitch speed on +41 or more you gota break a sweat to blow the cpu out and will loose as many games as you win in your dynasty thats if your ok ) ... pitch speed up makes you think and sit on pitches in the count and maybe fracture a pitchers skull or 2 :)))
