Laloosh
I know that it's possible to run two different "versiosn" of MVP 06, with different mods running for each. But I don't know how to accomplish this. I know it's relatively easy, but I don't want to start experimenting and completely ruin my version, which runs perfectly at the moment. Can somebody walk me through the process, or point me in the right direction to get the info. I seek? Thanks in advance!

Laloosh
copy your "MVP Baseball 2005" to "MVP Baseball 2006" there you go, 2 working copies That's like teaching someone how to drive by saying, "Get in, grab the wheel and hit the gas. There you go, you're driving." Can you maybe give a little bit more detail?
Jim825
I know that it's possible to run two different "versiosn" of MVP 06, with different mods running for each. Can somebody walk me through the process, or point me in the right direction to get the info. I seek? Thanks in advance! Here are the steps (note that this is for installing Total Classics, however, it will work for any mod you want a separate copy of the game for): 1. Make a copy of your entire MVP Baseball 2005 folder (and all subdirectories). 2. Rename the copied MVP Baseball 2005 folder to something else (for example "Total Classics 2005"). You now have two separate copies of MVP installed. 3. When you install Total Classics and are asked where to install the files, select your "Total Classics 2005" folder. Make sure that when you select the folder that you double click on it so that the subfolder icons appear (i.e. you actually open up the Total Classics 2005 folder). If you don't do this, the install will fail (trust me, this happened to me). 4. Create a new desktop icon by copying the original MVP Baseball 2005 desktop icon. Rename the new icon to Total Classics 2005 and edit the shortcut to point to Total Classics 2005 folder. That's all there is to it! Both versions of MVP ("Regular" and Total Classics) have to share the profiles, .SAV rosters and dynasty files contained with the MVP Baseball 2005 directory within My Documents but that isn't a big deal. Everything else is separate like stadiums, uniforms, teams etc etc ..... Also, remember that if you want to install new stadiums, new uniforms, etc. and you want to install it in both versions of MVP that you need to run the installation twice, once for Regular MVP and once for Total Classics. Laloosh
Awesome, thanks Jim. I was told that there was deleting registry keys and clean installs involved. But I like your way much better.

Jim825
Awesome, thanks Jim. I was told that there was deleting registry keys and clean installs involved. But I like your way much better. Nope - No mucking with the registry, etc. Clean installs (and then patch installations) are better because it's possible that if you copy your modded installation to another folder (to save it) and you then install a new mod on top of the old one, you may get a mixture of the two mods. For example, if you install Total Classics on top of the MVP06 mod, some of the MVP06 stadium select screens will still be visible (not a bad thing, but it may not be what you expected).
