How to Make Custom Jerseys?

First post here, just got MVP 2005 and a wireless gamepad and the MVP 2006 mod. It's AWESOME.

Anyway, I really wanted to try making custom jerseys (as I am a texture artist) and have no idea how to do it. I've messed with a few programs letting me view the textures, like EA Graphics Editor, but have NO idea where the Uniform textures are, and even if I found them, wouldn't no how to get them in-game.

Basically I want to create a team Dynasty and have my own uniforms. Any help?

Also, I guess I should ask how to edit team names and rosters, also. :(

ABCspam, if you do not know don't post anything

inside the models.big files are files that start with the letter U

u020a.fsh

team # 20 is the Reds

the letters after the number is what slot it takes

home = A

away = B

you can use:

Fshed or

gfshmgr or

nsfhtool

to separate the fsh in to editable image files.

Edit the files

and use the same program to put the images back in the fsh file

you will find templates in the download section

get the templates in the downloads section. you'll use them to make whatever uniform you want to make. you'll also find others for shoes, batting gloves, batting helmets, and wrist bands in the forums. you're gonna have to know how to edit with photoshop or something. there's no way to really tutor on this except practice.

http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Foru...3822&highlight=

just use step 8 to replace whatever files you want to change. this will get you your uniform.

the numbers and letters: there's also a template for it. but it's essentially the same. open the models.big file with EAgraph. look for the files that start with fxxxy, where x are numbers and y are letters. these correspond to your uniform files (uxxxy). change as needed just like you did in the link.

the unform portraits: use EAgraph to open your uniforms.big file in your frontend folder (C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005datafrontend). pick the number corresponding to the team you want to edit.

so say you're editing a yankees uniform. select the u011.fsh file. extract as described in the link and then follow the same steps.

try that. i'm sure you're gonna have questions. but that should be a good start. ask when you stumble on something.

I have this program, but don't know how to find any .mbe files.

When you're in MVPedit, click import, then select your mvp baseball 2005/data/database folder. Then you will be able to create an .mbe

I have this program, but don't know how to find any .mbe files.

You won't have any .mbe files until you use MVPEdit for the first time. Start MVPEdit, click the import button and then import the rosters by selecting the Program Files EA Sports MVP Baseball 2005 data database folder and then click the OK button. You will then be prompted to enter the name that you would like to give to your .mbe file that MVPEdit will create. Enter the name and press the Save button and you will have created your first .mbe file.

If you want to find .mbe files here on MVPMods, go to the Downloads section and look in the rosters subsection.

Thanks, your posts helped a lot. Got the rosters working.

I wanted to replace the Seattle Mariner team with my custom-made team. I extracted Oakland's jersey files (since they were closest to what I wanted), made the edits, extracted the Seattle jerseys, replaced the modified ones and had to rename them to match the Seattle ones.

Then it says to drag the index file into nfshtool and it's supposed to rebuild the .fsh file. But when I drag it on there, the box pops up for just a second and closes. The fsh file isn't modified, so I can't put it into the installer.

I did however get it to work when I was first screwing around with the Marlins jerseys, but now whenever I play as the Florida Marlins away, the game crashes!

EDIT: Just got it to rebuild the fsh file, put it in the installer, game crashes when I'm Seattle at Home. I choose teams, press advance, game loads all the way, then drops to desktop no error.

i'm not sure what you did either, you'll need to specify. but i just repacked it as u002a.fsh for the mariners uni and it worked fine. i did it with nfshtool exactly as i described in the link i posted earlier.

the only other thing i saw where you might run across a problem with crashing is that your uniform has most everything in 2x or more. the issue you're going to find (as kraw has stated numerous times) is that it can cause crashing, particularly in certain stadiums. what i would do if i were you is try re-sizing the uniform. yes you will lose some quality, but it may be the only way it can work in your game.

by the way, i'm assuming you kinda understand how the index file worked? just as i circled in the picture, this is where your re-packed uniform file (u026a.fsh) will end if you pack it with nfshtool. you can edit this line to whatever you want, to whatever name you want and it will repack as it's told. i only bring this up because there's a small possibility that if you're not that familiar with the program that you may have originally opened the file in your C:Artmarauders folder, unpacked it with nfshtool, and then moved the unpacked folder to another place thinking that when you re-pack it, it will show up in the new place. just a possibility. just re-check your original location after you've repacked it if that is indeed the case.

WOO!! Got it! Homer813, you hit the nail on the head. I was installing a different .fsh file then the one the program re-packed! Thank you so much everyone!

Now, can anyone tell me the number of the fsh file for the Seattle away jerseys?

Thanks! Now two new questions:

One: I know there's a .fsh file for text and numbers on jerseys, I saw it with Oakland's decompiled jersey files. How do I change that so the names and numbers are in green, not blue? Basically replace oakland's number file for Seattle?

Two: I replaced the grass in MVP 2006 mod with a lower-res one, but would like the higher res back. Any way to do this short of reinstalling the mod?

you can either use the templates in the download section or you can find some that you already like. just open up the models.big with EAgraph. look at all the files that look like fxxxy.fsh (probably oakland's). just make sure it starts with an "f". if you find one you like, extract it. rename the file to the number matching the uniform number you are using. ie. for the mariners (u002b.fsh) change it to f002b.fsh. use kraw's installer to add it to the models.big file.
