I know it is almost 10 months ago, but since the playoff is almost over. This idea just come up in my head, I dont think anybody had done this before. I am not sure if anybody will be interested tho. anyway here are some basic info about it, if u have any suggestions or question, just feel free to ask.

Logos, Uniforms: by garfield8

rosters:

Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei: WBCmods roster for Asia v2.0 by corny. I edited some of the Chinese Taipei players myself because I believe some of the edit are set too high.

Italy, USA, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela: WBC Rosters v2 by tdebidyal

Netherland: I import a random AA team and put Andrew Jones in it, I also created the kid who threw a no-hitter

Panama: Same thing with Netherland, adding Carlos Lee and Bruch Chen and couple major leaguers.

China, South Africa: A team, I change the player of the team china so it sounds like chinese.

Cuba: combination of some cuban major leaguer and players I created according the my limited info about cuban team.

Austrailia: imported from World Baseball Classic Preview by deadballfan

I will not play any game. What is gonna happen is I will run CPU vs CPU at MVP level. I will only take pictures and write report for each game.

Korea tops Chinese Taipei in a thriller.

There could not be a better game to start the WBC than this one. Korea with the help of some long balls and clutch hitting came from behind to beat Chinese Taipei by the score of 4-3.

Korea missed a golden oppurtunity in the first when they loaded the bases with only one out. Dong-Joo Kim popped out to the catcher and Hee Seop Choi flied out to left to end the inning.

In the bottom of the first, leaoff batter, Yun-Chi Chen, the Mariners' prospect smacked the first pitch he saw into the leftfield stand for a solo shot. Cleaup hitter Wei-Chu Lin would add to the lead in the 4th with a solo homerun of his own.

The score was 2-0 at the end of 5th. Chinese Taipei's starting pitcher En-Yu Lin was cruising through 5 innings after getting out of the mess in the 1st inning. Giving up only 2 hit until that point. In the top of 6th, Seung-Yeop Lee led off the inning with a walk. The next batter Dong Joo Kim hit a game tying 2 run homerun to the opposite field. Hee Seop Choi followed him with a solo shot. Just like that, with 2 swings of the bat, Korea took the one run lead.

The lead would not be there for long, with couple walks and a single, Chinese Taipei loaded the base in the bottom of the 6th with Chun-Chang Yeh at the plate. Korean pitcher Jae Weong Seo was struggling with his command would eventually walked in the tying run.

In the top of the seventh, Korean team started the rally after two outs, a walk and a single would put runner at first and second with their best hitter Seung-Yeop Lee up to bat, and he delievered as he punch a ground ball through the left side of the infield for a single, Jin Man Park would come around and score, the throw from the leftfielder is off line. Korea took a 4-3 lead.

Chinese Taipei had their best chance to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th, They had runner at first and second with their 3-4-5 hitters up, but Tae-Hyon Chong came out of the bullpen first struck out Chih-Sheng Lin, then he made Wei Chu Lin grounded into a double play to end the inning.

The former Met Dae-Sung Koo pitch a 1-2-3 8th and the Korean closer Seong-Hwan Oh pitched a 1-2-3 9th to seal the deal for the Koreans.

After this game, Korea is 1-0 and will face tomorrow China which should not provide much of a threat. Chinese Taipei is now 0-1 and the game against Japan tomorrow will almost be a must win for them.

EDIT: game report added

Japan too much for China to handle

Japan opened their tournament run with a very impressive showing of the offense as they hammered China by the score of 12-5

Hitoshi Tamura hit a 3 run homerun in the first inning to give Japan a 3 run lead. They never look back, score 2 runs on each of the next two innings and led China by the score of 7-0 by the 3rd inning.

China though, was able to score some runs off the wild Japanese starter Koji Uehara and make this game respecatable as they only trailed by 4 runs in the end of the 7th inning.

Kosuke Fukudome and Munenori Kawasaki each added a homerun in the 8th and the 9th inning to make the score 12-5 which would be the final score of the game. China' starter Liang Hong took the loss and Koji Uehara is the winner despite giving up 5 runs in 7 innings and had runner on bases constantly.

Japan will face Chinese Taipei (0-1) while China will play against Korea (1-0) tomorrow. If both teams win, they will both advance to the second round.

Somebody really should have done portraits for these guys...

Team China' roster is not based on real roster at all, I figure they are not gonna go far in the tournament, so i just import a single A team and give them chinese names, same thing with team south africa. and by the way, team china 3rd batter is named Yao Ming and his height is 7'3 i believe (the highest you can go in MVP)

China Shocked the world, upset Korea

Korea was thinking about tomorrow game against Japan for the first place of the pool while playing China and they paid a price for it, a huge price.

China hitters jumped all over the Korean starter Min-Han Son, scoring 9 run in the first 4 innings and pitch just good enough to hold on and beat Korea by the score of 11-7. This is the first time China has beat Korea in internation baseball competition.

Korea opted to save all of their major league pitcher for the game against Japan tomorrow and go with Min-Han Son. It turns out Son had nothing today. He would leave the game after 3 1/3 inning pitched, giving up 8 hits, 9 earned runs and allowed 2 homeruns.

Korea found themselves in a big hole was able to get to Chinese starting pitcher Fei Chang. They scored 7 runs in 5 innings and trailed by only 2 runs with 4 more innings to play. But they fail to score again in the next 4 innings against Chinese relief pitcher Lu Feng Deng who pitched brilliantly in his 4 1/3 innings of the work. giving up only 2 hits while struck out 5 including struck out the side in the 9th to shut the door.

After this game, both team are 1-1 and Korea will face Japan(1-0) while China face Chinese Taipei (0-1) tomorrow

Japan escaped early scare, top Chinese Taipei

Japan once again brought out the bats, collect total of 18 hits and score total of 17 runs to beat Chinese Taipei, 17-11.

This one was purely a slugfest as both starting pitchers were not effective. Chinese Taipei was able to keep up to pace with Japan early in the game as two teams exchanged lead several times. The turning point occured in the 6th inning when Nishioka hit a 3 run homerun to give Japan a 10-8 lead, Japan would then score two more runs that inning, 5 the following to finally pull away for good.

Japan is now 2-0 and their chance of advancing looks real promising. Chinese Taipei is 0-2, however, if they beat China tomorrow and give up less than 10 runs, and Japan beat Korea tomorrow night, they could advance to second round as the second place of the pool.

you might want to change the tense in the screenshots. so, instead of saying "ichiro stole a base in the third", say "Ichiro steals a bag in the third", but only for the screenshots.

Lin, Chang keep Chinese Taipei' hope alive

Yin Chieh Lin keep China scoreless for the first 7 innings before giving up 3 runs in the 8th, Tai Shan Chang went 3 for 4 with 1HR and 5RBI and Chinese Taipei beat China, 8-3

Both starting pitcher started off strong, keep the opposing hitters unbalanced for the first 3 innings. In the bottom of the 4th, Chih Shen Lin and Wei Chu Lin both got a hit, Tai Shan Chang stepped into the plate and smashed one over the fence for a 3 run shot, Chin Lung Hu followed with a homerun of his own to give Chinese Taipei a 4-0 lead in the 4th. Chinese Taipei score another 3 run in the next inning, 2 of them driven in by Tai Shan Chang' double.

Yin Chieh Lin who was suppose to start yesterday's game, was pushed back because of some strategic moves was brilliant today. keep the Chinese batter off balance for 7 innings. He appeared to run out of gas in the 8th, giving up 2 hits and 2 walks and walked in a run. Po Sheng Keng came out of the pen and giving up a single driving in two runs, but he was able to finish the 8th before more damage is done. China would threaten again in the 9th as they had runner at second and thrid with only 1 out. Chinese Taipei brought in their closer Hong Chi Kuo who pitches for the dodgers and he struck out the first batter he face and got a ground ball for the last out of the game to close the deal.

Both China and Chinese Taipei finish their pool play with the record of 1-2. China is already eliminated because they gave up too many runs. On the other hand, Chinese Taipei will need a Japan win over Korea for them to advance to the second round.

Japan wins the pool, take Chinese Taipei with them to US

Japan win its 3rd game in a row, defeated Korean 9-2. Watanabe pitched strong 7 innings, giving up only 1 run on 6 hits. Tsuyoshi Nishioka went 3-5 with 3RBI.

In a must win situation, Korea started their ace Chan Ho Park. But he was not effective. Ichiro led off the game with a triple and later scored on a ground ball hit by Fukudome. Matsunaka hit a solo shot to right. Just like that, Japan took a 2-0 lead by the end of 1st.

Both team's bats went quiet for the next two innings, in the top of the fourth, Seung-Yeop Lee went yard to cut the lead in half, but that might have awaken the Japanese hitters as they put up a 5 spot in the bottom of the fourth and really put some distance between them.

This game will wrap up Pool1. Japan is first place with perfect 3-0 record. The rest of 3 teams are tied with the record of 1-2. After a 3 teams tie-breaker which is run giving up against teams that are involved in the tie breaker, Chinese Taipei who gave up total of 7 runs is awarded the second place and advance to the second round of the WBC. Korea after a shocking loss to China which they gave up 11 run in that game has to settle for the third place and the flight back home is definitely not gonna be a pleasant one.
