Sidewinder Posted October 28, 2006 Share Posted October 28, 2006 I picked up a 360 recently and played the demos of both hockey games for 07. While I really liked the new stick control and goalie play on EA's game, the overall gameplay felt too spastic and not coordinated, making the AI seem weak. On the 2K Sports game, the new camera was outstanding and the skating/control felt very smooth, graphics were solid but the feeling of shooting and goalie play just didnt seem to be as cool as NHL07. It would be nice to have the best things of both in one game. I am leaning towards getting the the NHL2k7 game. It just seems a more solid, overall simulation, but I think EA has a great engine that could make for a great game a few years from now, when the players dont skate around like mindless idiots. I have NHL06 on the PC and it plays a solid game, but graphically it is night and day to the 360 version. What do you guys think? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
cb Posted October 29, 2006 Share Posted October 29, 2006 Hands Down NHL 2k7 is a far better game. the actual gameplay of NHL 07 is horrid, with the player you are controlling having a Sims-Like diamond over their head instead of a disk under their skates makes it difficult to figure out which player you are controlling. Not to mention that with the eception of the player models, nothing looks graphically better. NHL 2k7 makes the most of the abilities of the 360 and is incredibly smooth, as I'm sure you noticed in the demo. Don't even bother wasting 5 bucks to rent NHL 07, just go out and buy NHL 2k7.
