xiberger
Roster updates are only applied to the default rosters, they don't show up in already started Dynasties/Owner Modes.
jaiBronx
They don't show up in the default rosters either...I tried to play a game in the "PLAY NOW" mode and the rosters are as they were in the beginning of the '05 season.
xiberger
Then you didn't install them properly. What exactly did you do?
jaiBronx
I simply extracted the .dat-files to: MVP baseball 2005/data/database folder, as instructed. I said "Yes" when asked to overwrite the existing files....that's it. What did I do wrong? I would really like to get these rosters into the game. Do I need to start a new dynasty to to so? Thanks for the help.

jaiBronx
I have looked everywhere, the rosters are not in the game. I go into "Play Now" and once in the game I go into "Roster Options", Nothing! The roster simply isn't there. I've even tried to load the roster from the "Load Rosters" menu before starting a game....not there. I know I've done something wrong, just can't figure out what. Hope you can help. Is there another file I need to extract with the .dat file? I am not using any other mods, just the rosters. Do I need to also use the models.big and uniforms.big files to get this to work? I only installed the .dat files.

Totte
Did you install the patches by EA like it says in the readme?
jaiBronx
Did you install the patches by EA like it says in the readme? Yes, I tried. They won't install. I keeps telling me the old file no longer exists. I do remember that some time ago I needed to rename two files to revert back to the original install files in order to allow the patches to install, I just can't get it to work. I messed with it for an hour. If you can help, I'd really appreciate it.
SESbb30
if you just have rosters, try reinstalling the game. then the patches, then the rosters, if that doesnt work, i dont know whats wrong. and if you have mvp-edit, try exporting the mbe. Rafting_96
Do you have the original version of the game or a Fake version (pirate). when you try to install any update from EA, The setup program makes the following search. 1-Version of the game 2- version of the .exe, if you have a Crack version of the mvp.exe the setup gives you the following error " the old file no longer exists"

I have been looking for it to disable it so the patches will install, I can't find the little sucker!. I know it's in there...anyone know what the file name might be? I will continue to look. I really don't want to have to do a clean install...I have many tweaks in the game I would hate to lose. Thanks everyone.

Check for the original 'mvp2005.exe' file on the CD and replace the no cd crack .exe with the original. Then install the patches, then re-apply the crack. But backup your files! big shmooz
Personally I don't believe that is the problem. Try looking in windows explorer inside the database folder & see if you have another folder inside there. If you do (& I believe you will find that you do) therein lies your problem. You need to cut the .dat files from inside that subfolder & paste them directly into the database folder. The reason this issue occurs is, because the download is set to makea new folder when the files are extracted. hence when you extract the files to the database folder, in fact the files do not go in to the database folder. Btw, if you are using the plus version of the files or the regular version, this would make absolutely no difference. If you are using my models.big download, use the plus version. Otherwise use the regular version.
big shmooz
If you wish to install your .exe file that comes with the game, simply go to your mvp 05 disk & copy over the mvp2005.exe file & paste it into your main mvp 05 folder. Say yes to overwrite. Then install the patches. (btw.. you will have to also install the original rosters too. Otherwise you will still get the error when trying to patch the game.) After you patch the game, you can then install the rosters you downloaded.

Short of a clean install, I can't think of anything else to do. I have repeated the proper steps more than once...nothing, the rosters just will not go into the game. I'm at work but will play a bit more when i get home.
