Big Time Install Issue

Ok I have no clue where to post this question, so if this is in the wrong forum please mods could you move it to the proper place?

I just bought MVP 2005 for my PC, but I'm having a really hard time installing it. I start the install by putting disk number 1 in and all is well, then it prompts me to enter disk 2. So after I put disk 2 into the drive I get the following message:

A problem occured when trying to transfer the file D:igshapesigcrsr.fsh.bak

Would you like to try and reinstall?

I have no clue what this is, I tried to bring the game back to where I bought it, but they said that since it has been opened there is nothing they can do. All I want is this game to work.

I tried to contact Ea sports online, but they said that they dont support the game anymore and cant help me :( Which is crazy because they created the damn thing, so does anyone know of anything I can do to get this up and running?

That is what I wanted but I was told since it is open they CAN NOT by any means help me out and that I would have to contact EA Sports and not to mention I think this was the last one that they had, because I found this one stuck behind a bunch of COD's like someone was hiding it. This is the last time that I EVER purchase anything from Kmart. Hell the only reason I even bought from there to begin with is because no one else had any, for some reason this is a really hard game to find. I really dont want to have to go back to my PS2 to play MVP

Well here is a complex but it will work.

What You need:

A blank CD

give me your e-mail address

I can send you my disk 2 files and you can burn them onto a cd. Then use that for installation but you will need the ea disc 2 to play the game.

so pm me if you want to do this

On a side note, shouldnt EA still help me out seeing as they created the game? It shouldnt matter if they dont have to rights to MLB or not

If they don’t produce the game anymore how are they supposed to help you?

It's not like they can send you a new disk.

All they did is lose the rights to the rosters and MLB related things, so that in no way stops them from giving tech support. MVP is installed the same way every other game they produce for the PC, so all I want them to do is help me with the install. I could understand if I was asking for help with rosters or something like that, but this is an issue with the disk EA Sports produced and all I want them to do is tell me how to fix it or something. For all I know this could be a common issue, either way I just want the game to work that is all. I have no desire to complain about EA Sports or anything else, I just want the game to work and if anyone here can help me that would be awesome

Exactly. Losing the rights to MLB has no effect on EA's ability to support their own product. They can choose to stop supporting it, but they don't have to in any way. Even though they've stopped supporting it, I seriously doubt all of the source code has been deleted, and that they have no idea of the files that were sent on the discs.

EDIT - BTW Stormshadow, the store that you bought the game from is at fault as well. As a consumer, you purchased a product that doesn't actually work, therefore the CD is faulty. If you buy a faulty product, they must reimburse you in some way for that - whether it be by way of a new copy of the game or by way of gift vouchers or something similar. They are still bound by the relevant seller/buyer acts written in law. Here, in the U.K., it's the Sale of Goods Act, but I'm not sure what it is in the U.S., so if you want to, you could contact a legal authority unofficially to get advice. If you have any friends in the legal business, I'd give them a call.

Good luck. :)
