grandma
I just downloaded Ultimate Rosters 8.0 SE rosters and tried install them using Kraw's installer that came with it. It didn't seem to do anything. What exactly is the installer supposed to do? Is there a way to uninstall it? I don't see an uninstaller anywhere. I did notice in the task manager that Ultimate Rosters was an application running along with MVP. Please advise.
krawhitham
the installer was designed to be in the root of the download, not it's own folder.
grandma
I moved your installer into the folder that contains the UR .dat folder etc. and clicked on it there as well (per the installer readme instructions). I also just went ahead and copied the .dat files for UR over to where they belong manually (per the readme instructions for UR 8.0). I'm just not sure what exactly the installer was meant to do. Does the installer merely move those files so I don't manually have to? Do I need to uninstall anything since I used the installer? Sorry if these are stupid questions. I'm new to the mods page. By the way, thanks for all the work you guys put into keeping this game alive!!

grandma
Okay. I didn't have it in that order. Does this mean the installer did nothing? Is the installer just moving the files needed or actually installing something? I only want the roster updates, so I don't think I need to worry about the mbe stuff. Again, sorry for my beginner questions! Thanks for the help though.
SESbb30
just have those in the same folder and use the installer. the mbe is for viewing it in mvp edit, so if you dont want to do that, just ignore it. if you run the installer and follow the directions and it should be intsalled. if that doesnt do it, read over the instructions very carefully and do what it says. grandma
When I ran the installer, there were no instructions. It just gave me the destination and when I clicked next it finished the installation. I'm not sure if this accomplished anything though b/c nothing had changed in my game. My primary question is if I need to uninstall to undo anything it might have done. I see no uninstall option. Is the installer just a quicker way to accomplish copying the .dat files over? Again, I apologize if these questions are elementary. I am new to this. Thanks for the help though.

grandma
I don't use MVPedit (I don't really even know what it is). Yes, everything was in that folder with the .dat, etc. I just need to know if there is an "uninstaller" I should run. I'm still not sure if the install.exe did anything, but if it did I'd like to start over. Would reinstalling the game take care of whatever the installer was meant to do? chris_and_grace
do you have the dat folder and the mbe folder, the read me and the installer in the same folder? i'm experiencing the same issue as grandma. i only have the dat and mbe folders, along with the install file and the readme (word) file in the same location and nothing happens when i double-click on the install (other than choose a path for the supposed installation). what are we doing wrong? grandma
Again, I only need to know if our supposed installation has affected anything that I need to take care of. Is this a program installation (that would require an uninstall) or does it just move the appropriate files for you so you don't have to copy/paste yourself? I'd like to just update rosters and only minimally change what is going on in the game. Thanks again for any advice.
Yankee4Life
You know, you don't really have to use this installer to use the updated rosters for the UR standard edition. Do you see the rosters in the .dat folder? Cut and paste them and put them in the MVP2005/data/database directory. It overrides the old rosters. grandma
I appreciate all the help, but my initial question still remains. Do I have to uninstall anything after using this "installer" for the UR 8.0? I will go back and just cut/paste the rosters, but I'd like to know if this installer has done anything besides just moving the files for you. Is it a program installation? Is there an uninstaller? Thanks.
