droolingwoolf
I run MVP Baseball 2005 through Alcohol 120%. I would love to update my rosters with MVP Edit, but for some reason when I try to import the .dat files, I get an error message. Could someone explain how to update files when you use an emulator. Thanks
DJEagles
I am under the assumption you are using a burned or downloaded version. We do not condone that here, and won't answer any questions regarding that.
abc006
actually, i believe (correct me if i'm wrong), alchohol 120% just like copies all the files onto the hard drive, so you just don't have to use a disk... correct me if i'm wrong.

DJEagles
I am only really familiar with using Alcohol as a burning tool, so I apologize for assuming otherwise.

DJEagles
I have it, but I normally use daemon to emulate.
MagicHands8686
I am only really familiar with using Alcohol as a burning tool, so I apologize for assuming otherwise. Alcohol 120% is used 99.9% of the time for playing pirated games. Since the only way any of us would know if he didn’t actually own the game is if he told us he didn’t there really isn’t anyway for us to know. I use it to make cd images of games that I own.

I also use Alcohol to backup my games. It was an exaggeration. I was just pointing out that the majority of people use Alcohol for illegal purposes. Actually, the percentage of people that use Daemon Tools for illegal purposes is probably higher than the percentage of people that use Alcohol for illegal purposes. That’s probably true but they’re both in the same category as Limewire, Azureus, eMule.
droolingwoolf
I own MVP Baseball 2005 ( I use alcohol 120% so the game will load faster ) and Alcohol 120% ( I paid $49.99 for the software ). I just want to install an updated roster I downloaded from MVP Mods. There is no illegal activity going on here, only file updating. I am a registered EA Online member ( check the screen name ). DJEagles
I believe you....like I said, I apologize...how does the game load faster...I am a noob when it comes to this.
MagicHands8686
I think its time we stopped hijacking this guys thread and try and help him. Using a virtual drive won’t make a difference when using mods. What rosters are you trying to install UR? Edit: I believe you....like I said, I apologize...how does the game load faster...I am a noob when it comes to this. The disk is loaded off your Hard Drive instead of your CD/DVD Drive. ronmexico
I believe the original problem that you have is that when you import into MVPEdit you have to take out certain files. What I do is that I take all the files in data/database folder and make a copy of them on my desktop. Then I delete the .big files in there and the resign.csv. Then import from that folder. It will try to read all the files in the folder upon import, so you must take those files out or else it will import too much and not have the proper size. kgbaseball
You shouldn't have to do that, but if it works for you, maybe it'll work with other people.
ronmexico
You shouldn't have to do that, but if it works for you, maybe it'll work with other people. I always had that problem, thats why I finally came up with the system above.
droolingwoolf
Sorry, my problem isn't importing rosters into MVP edit ( I first tried to do this months ago, but recently tried to do so again ), my problem is installing the roster(s) into the game ( that is when I receive the error message ). " The file attrib.dat is a read only file and cannot be overwritten. Export halted. " That is the error message I receive. Should I un-mount my image ( Alcohol creates .mds file images ) and then try to export the roster(s)?
kgbaseball
Try going into the database folder and unchecking the "Read only" option.

angryrat
i think i read somewhere on this website, that after you uncheck the readme, you should check it again after modding it, because after a while it will corrupt itself. Am I wrong?
