paulsu
I am so frustrated. I just can't get UR v 8.0 (Final) Plus to work on my PC.Please kindly advise what I have I done wrong or anything that might make the difference. I have searched and read quite a a few of ariticles related to the issue but just can't see why it doesn't work. Here is what I have done. 1. Fresh & clean installed of MVP 2005 ( deleted all the old folder and files before installation) 2. Installed patch 3&5 3. Place the .dat-files of UR v 8.0 (Final) Plus in mvp baseball 2005/data/database folder. 4. Place Big Shmooz models.big file in mvp baseball 2005/data folder and the uniforms.big file in mvp baseball 2005/data/frontend folder. 5. Put portrait.big of Total Portaits 2006 in mvp baseball 2005/data/frontend folder It crashes every time when I am trying to play a game or save the game in owners mode. Any ideas why is that? :thunder:

paulsu
yes, it only crashed in owners mode. Both exhibition game and Dynasty seems to work fine and can be saved without crashing.

Are you trying to play from a previously started Owners Mode (before you installed the rosters and models.big) or a fresh one?
paulsu
I am trying to play from a fresh game. By the way, I am NOT using NO -CD crack as I read some articles mentioned it can cause the crash. Still can't figure out why?!!
paulsu
Should I reinstall the game and just install patch 3 or 5? One of the threads said one of the EA patches ( didn't mention which one). Thank you for taking time to answer my questions..
MagicHands8686
Should I reinstall the game and just install patch 3 or 5? One of the threads said one of the EA patches ( didn't mention which one). Thank you for taking time to answer my questions.. It doesn’t matter, there is no difference between installing patches 3 & 5 and just 5. The only difference between the two patches is the rosters are more up to date in 5 then they are in 3 (not by much though). I knew this sounded familiar so I did some digging through some of my older posts and turned this up. I thought this had been fixed in v8.0, it’s worth a try though. What you’re going to need to do is open up your “manager.dat†file with notepad. You can find it in your C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005datadatabase folder. Once you open it with notepad it will probably look really confusing but that’s ok. All you need to understand is that each line is broken down into segments for instance “0 Felipe†would be the first segment and “1 Alou†would be second segment and so on and so forth until you reach the last segment 20. Also each segment is separated by a (,) and the top line is explaining what each segment stands for. Now what you need to change is the nineteenth segment which stands for “manager_reallife†basically what you need to do is make sure every lines nineteenth segment looks like this “19 1,†except for the first line which you can ignore it should start like this 0 first_name,1 last_name,2 manager_jerseynum, Also ignore the second line it should start like this 0f58f3c1b,0 Default,1 Default,2 99, And ignore the last line on the page which should start like this 07dc7da2d,0 A,1 Manager,2 99, I know that may be a little confusing so remember to backup your “manager.dat†incase you accidentally screw something up. I have to get up in four hours so I’m going to try and get some sleep now.
