highlight_reel
Hello. I am the same highlight_reel who made the guide that was used in the making of MVP 1994. (Hory, thanks for the credit) I am wondering if anyone would be interested if I started my own roster thread, with my own rosters and all that, right here, on MVPMods, and someone could convert it into a roster file? I don't have MVP 05 for the PC myself (I want it bad), and I only have it for the sad Gamecube, but I'm sure some of the rest of you on this EXCELLENT forum would be interested. If so, just let me know, and I'll get to work, beginning Thursday afternoon. (or even possibly sooner)
JoeyMcM93
It would be very difficult for you to give ratings and such and have someone make a roster file for you. It would be very, very tedious and time consuming, but I'm sure it could be done.
abc006
couldn't someone give you their database files, just in a separate folder, and then you just use mvpedit to do whatever you want - I don't think you'd actually need the game, just those files. highlight_reel
How do you use MVPEDIT? Is it the same thing as the actual ratings for the real MVP?
kgbaseball
MVPEdit is a joy to use. It translates ratings you give it into the game, and is absolutely essential for roster makers.
abc006
How do you use MVPEDIT? Is it the same thing as the actual ratings for the real MVP?Yes, but more. It takes the MVP database files, and edits them accordingly, but not only can you edit ratings, but also portait, audio, and face numbers, and manage rosters, etc.
highlight_reel
See, I'd work with that, but I have no clue how to do portrait, audio, and all that stuff. And being that I don't have the game for myself, I'd have less motivation seeing that I wouldn't even get to enjoy my work. That's why I'd like someone to place in the rosters for me.... but then again, that's only if anyone here is willing and would have the time. krawhitham
what good would it be to him to make a roster .dat set using MVPedit, he plays the game on the GC. No one has ever converted a PC roster to the GC. If you do go the MVPedit route, someone give him a DEFAULT roster set to start with. It has to be a roster that has the default player HEX IDs if it is to be converted for consoles. And yes it is possible to convert the roster if you have a modded GC, Which I do not have
highlight_reel
LOL, there's such thing as a modded GC? Get me in touch with one... PLEASE!!!

krawhitham
all roster files PC/Xbox/PS2/GC are in the same format you have to change the roster files on the game disc, start the game and save the roster to a game save device. so in order to boot a burned game disc (only way to change roster files) your system needs to be modded

highlight_reel
Some people don't want the game. I'm serious. I just haven't been at the right place at the right time.... but I've seen people on other forums who have either given away or sold them for $20. highlight_reel
Alright, I plan on getting the PC version off of EBAY or at EBGAMES soon, so I want to be able to start with my rosters. Currently, I am starting on the CAPs... so that if/when I do get the PC version, I can bring my work right into action. And BTW, if anyone wants my CAP guide, let me know... I'm currently working on V2.
