I'm trying to get my controller to work with MVP but I can't seem to get it going. I looked in regedit for it so I could rename it, but I couldn't seem to find anything. Can anyone help me??

LOL, I just bought that SAME controller yesterday..I had a hard time getting it to work, but it works GREAT now.

I'll give you the steps to make it work in a sec.

Great choice on the controller :mrgreen:

OK, first, install the drivers from the CD (just use the quick install since you don't have to install the actual software)...

Then go into the registry and in the entry (should be the last one) where it says "Cyborg......." (or something like that) modify the OEMName to Saitek P880

Then go into your controller.cfg file and change the first 2 lines so they look like this:

profile= Saitek_P880

device= Saitek_P880

Then if you want to save yourself an hour, replace the entries in the middle of the file with this:

VPAD_PITCH_1= button 3

VPAD_PITCH_2= button 4

VPAD_PITCH_3= button 1

VPAD_PITCH_4= button 2

VPAD_PITCH_5= button 6

...that way you'll have the right pitches assigned to the correct buttons.

And keep in mind that the analogs on this controller act as buttons too, so you can use that as your setting for the "bunt"

Ok I modified the Cyborg entry but I can't find the controller.cfg in regedit. I did a search for controller.cfg but found nothing.

The controller.cfg file is in your My Documents/MVP 2004 folder....You have to open it using notepad or wordpad..

Sorry I didn't mention that

Well, I changed everything in the controller.cfg, but I still can't get to load the saitek in the game. I did do the full install when I did the drivers for the controller, but that shouldn't matter.

Maybe I missing something in regedit. What I did was simply search my computer for Cyborg. Once I found it I renamed it to the Saitek P880. Prehaps I didn't rename the OEMN name? How do you do that?

Well that's actually the most important step in the whole thing :| ...

Access the regirsty editor and go to "

HKEY_Local_Machine/System/ControlSet001/Control/MediaProperties/PrivateProperties/DirectInput/Joystick/OEM/VID_06A3&PID_FF0C

On the right column right-click on OEMName and click Modify. Change that name to Saitek P880

Go to Control Panel/Game Controllers and make sure that Saitek P880 actually appears there and that OK is written next to it....Then just follow the other steps I mentioned before. And I hope you SAVED the controller.cfg file after modified it.

kerry....can ya send that No DL in AAA Roster over?

What do you mean? I can send you my roster save file if you want, because I changed the DL lineups in my game (couldn't figure out how to do it in MVPedit)...

I'll email it to you...what's your @?
