parkernj
I have just recently installed MVP Baseball 2005 on my new machine. It has been in storage... anyway, not important. What is important, is that I wish to update this game to the most recent settings/rosters/etc that is possible through the help of MVPmods.com. In this way, I ask all of the users of this site for help, in hopes that I will be able to contribute. What I hope will follow as a response to this message is the following: 1. A complete list of each file that I need to download to update the rosters to reflect current real rosters. 2. A list of steps to correctly implement these files. 3. A list of other files I need to update the game to the most complete visual settings (face art, ball parks, etc). 4. A list of steps to correctly implement these changes. I broke this list into steps, as I am mostly concerned with 1 and 2. I tried to simply download SwinginSoriano's EPIC roster files, following the instructions, and the game crashes every time I try to play using the rosters, regardless of method (Exhibition, Dynasty, etc). Perhaps there is something I am missing? Anyway, I want to make the following apologies in case they are necessary: I am sorry if the answers to these questions are documented somewhere - I unfortnately do not have the time to search everywhere, let along play the game :-( I also apologize if this seems like a request that is too time-consuming. I will say that I appreciate the help of all here, as this is the premier source for MVP Baseball 2005 mods. Thank you all so much for your recommendations and considerations! pistonj92
1.Okay, first uninstall your game and clean out your entire MVP 2005 folder. 2.Then download EA Patch 3(available on here or at other sites) 3. Install The MVP 06 Mod (it is easy to install just run the .exe) 4. Download KGbaseball Roster Overhaul 2.0 and open it with some .rar opening program(like WinRAR). Open Roster Files Open Database and drag all files in there into your MVP Baseball database (should be C:Program FilesEA SportsMVP Baseball 2005datadatabase) There You Go! Updated rosters with tons of other mods
D-Unit
Welcome to MVPMods.com, parkernj. I think it would be a good idea to sticky this, for when new users or users with installation questions search the forums for a way to update MVP. parkernj
It is good to be here! Sports SIM games are only as good as their ability to be customized, and it is to the credit of sites such as this that make it happen... In response to pistonj92 -you say to uninstall the game essentially and then download and install the files you specify. Am I supposed to reinstall a clean copy of MVP Baseball prior to loading the Patch3, etc etc? In looking through the various downloads available, it seems like the combination of KGbaseball Roster Overhaul 2.0 with the models.big (or whatever it was called...) was the way to go. What does Patch3 do for me, and where do I find it exactly (still learning my way around...)? As for the sticky idea - having a general description for others like me, who want a more complete SIM experience with games like this, it would be a great resource to have. Great idea D-Unit! pistonj92
yes you have to clean install to work to full potential. Patch 3 is needed to install the 06 mod which is full of cyberfaces, stadiums, etc. This helps with glitches I think and other things needed to run the game smoothly.
