TwentySeven
I have a question. Is Ken Griffey Jr. overrated? I mean, he's hurt all the time. But are people still seing him as the guy who can hit 40-50 HRs? I think even the average fan recognizes that while he is a hall-of-famer and a great player, he is injured often. He is famous enough that the info about all his injuries is widely publicized.

RaptorQuiz
Thanks for the pointless info, especially in light that McGwire wasn't exaclty a Card for life either. No kidding. McGwire had 11 full seasons, then half a season with the A's. Then he had half a season with the Cards, 2 full seasons, then 2 injury plagued years where he never appeared in 100 games. Just give up, Hardcore... the argument has gotten so far away from "overrated players" that we're talking about Eckstein or McGwire and the hall of fame??? The argument about Eckstein is rediculous. Overrated? Nobody outside of ANA or STL had ever heard of him before the was WS-MVP. Most people still haven't heard of him. And I'm tired of all these rediculous stat-gurus. I like stats as much as the next guy... but try actually watching a game. He's a grinder, he's very solid defensively, and he's best described as an "obnoxious" hitter. That's exactly what STL wants in a SS and leadoff guy. He's not a superstar. But he's certainly adequate. And that's all Eckstein has ever been billed as: Adequate. Barely. Remember people saying the Eck-to-STL signing was the WORST FA-signing that year? And jhath is calling him overrated. Puh-leez. He's not overrated. He's not underrated. He's barely ever been rated at all. lol. And the topic of the thread is who is the MOST overrated player in ALL of MLB. And people are saying it's David Eckstein? Are you kidding me?
