dwdufour
I attempted to edit the contract.csv file in progress.big. I wanted big time free agents to ask for more money and more years, since that is the trend. For some reason, they now ask for more years, but they still ask for the same money. If someone has had success with this please let me know. Any ideas will be appreciated. Also, If I can get this to work, I would be happy to upload it here for download. Thanks. UncleMo
Earlier today I was thinking of this same issue. I'd also like to see if they can change the amounts for, say 4 star and 5 star players, at age 27-32. Just what I was thinking earlier today. SoCalDodger
Another thing I have noticed about free agents are the older players and the years they are seeking on their contracts. I have guys approaching their mid-thirties seeking four-year deals. Anyone else experiencing this?
UncleMo
But I don't see what is different about that...
dwdufour
I've managed to get guys like Zito and Soriano to ask for 6-7 years, but they only ask for somewhere around 7 mil. Once the bidding starts its gets up there a little bit. Through simming I think the highest I saw Zito get was around 7 years @ 9.6 million per year. I have definitely changed the year demands but the money remains the same.
Shane
Very interested to see where you get with this.
ronmexico
Try this... http://mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=3421.html Works for me...get nice long contracts.
dwdufour
Actually I've got a handle on the length of the contracts. My problem now is the money aspect. Also, I prefer bill harris's progression file. Your file seems to be a little too giving in the progression department. I simmed about 15 years with yours and there were consistently 30 + guys with 35+ homers. Bill Harris's seems to be a little more realistic in the stat department. Though I must say you are almost there with the rookies.big file. If the progression was toned down it would probably be near perfect. So any ideas on the money front? ronmexico
Well all I can say is change the $acceptable, not the low and high asking prices, cause that is the actual value that determines whether they will sign.
GEOLINK
I see some poor players asking for some Indespensible(sp?) contracts why is this
ronmexico
I see some poor players asking for some Indespensible(sp?) contracts why is this Cause the game overvalues them. You can lower their star rating, and then they won't ask for those kinds of contracts. PS Indispensable ;)
UncleMo
I think the only thing missing is increasing the amount of money a player asks for. Especially 4 and 5 star players.
ronmexico
Put it to a vote, do you want me to add more money 4 & 5 star players in another release? Also, what do you think about 1, 2 and 3 star player (money-wise)?
dwdufour
I don't understand why the changes made in the money area wont take effect. I tried ridiculously high numbers and top level free agents are still only asking around 7.1 million. Unless they already made more than that. ronmexico
Well have you tried doing this before starting an offseason? It won't take effect otherwise. Try this in the beginning of a franchise, release a 5 star player in your rosters (before starting a dynasty) and see how much they ask for. I'll play around with it tommorow, or at worst this weekend, see what happens to me...
dwdufour
I always start a new franchise after I make the changes. Then I sim a few seasons to double check.
