compmaniac
Since I do not have a working controller for my computer (I have a Chinese one, but it doesn't work...i plug it into the USB and printer ports (am I supposed to plug it into the printer port?)), I've tried to modify my controls config file, and I have this for keyboard1 controls, profile= Keyboard_Profile_1 device= Keyboard_Profile_1 player= 1 number_of_buttons= 0 number_of_povs= 0 number_of_axis= 0 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_START= key sc_esc VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SELECT= key sc_divide VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CROSS= key sc_down VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CIRCLE= key sc_right VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SQUARE= key sc_left VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_TRIANGLE= key sc_up VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L1= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R1= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L2= key sc_add VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R2= key sc_backslash VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L3= key sc_pagedown VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= key sc_pageup VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_RIGHT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_RIGHT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_PITCH_1= key sc_down VPAD_PITCH_2= key sc_right VPAD_PITCH_3= key sc_left VPAD_PITCH_4= key sc_up VPAD_PITCH_5= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_FIRST= key sc_right VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_SECOND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_THIRD= key sc_left VPAD_PITCH_OUT= key sc_down VPAD_THROW_BALL= key sc_rshift VPAD_INTENTIONAL_WALK= key sc_pageup VPAD_INTENTIONAL_HITBATTER= key sc_pagedown VPAD_PITCH_HISTORY_OPEN= key sc_rbracket VPAD_SWING_NORMAL= key sc_down VPAD_SWING_BUNT= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_CHARGE_MOUND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_THROW_FIRST= key sc_right VPAD_FIELD_THROW_SECOND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_THROW_THIRD= key sc_left VPAD_FIELD_THROW_HOME= key sc_down VPAD_FIELD_SWITCH= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_FIELD_RELAY_THROW= key sc_backslash VPAD_FIELD_CUTOFF_THROW= key sc_backslash VPAD_FIELD_FAKE_RUNDOWN_THROW= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_RUNNER_FIRST_SELECT= key sc_right VPAD_RUNNER_SECOND_SELECT= key sc_up VPAD_RUNNER_THIRD_SELECT= key sc_left VPAD_RUNNER_RUNFIRST= key sc_d VPAD_RUNNER_RUNSECOND= key sc_w VPAD_RUNNER_RUNTHIRD= key sc_a VPAD_RUNNER_RUNHOME2SCORE= key sc_s VPAD_BASERUNNER_ADVANCEALL= key sc_pageup VPAD_BASERUNNER_RETREATALL= key sc_pagedown Everything works perfectly fine (I can take leads off bases by pressing Shift, an Arrow Key, and NumPad Key), but I can't aim outside the strike zone when I throw Pitches #1-4 (these are controls by the arrow keys). When I throw Pitch #5 outside the strike zone, it works (this is controlled by the NumPad Enter Key). Why? Also, if nobody can think of a solution to this, can you answer the other question? Am I supposed to plug the controller into the printer port? (One of the two things on the controller seems to fit in the printer port, but Windows doesn't say anything about "New Hardware Detected.") Thanks a lot.

DJEagles
Was there a CD installation disc with the controller?
compmaniac
Yes, but it doesn't work...maybe the controller was just bad, or maybe I'm not supposed to plug it into the printer port and there's some special port? I'd rather have the question about the controller config file answered, but thanks for answering my other question.

I'm not sure if I want to adopt your config file yet because you use different controls than I do on the keyboard.
sjbushido
alright, ill try it, you could always make a backup copy of the original config file, but ill see again, even though this is what ive been using for a while

Just replace it w/ the old one if it doesnt work

compmaniac
Go to your My Documents. Double-click MVP Baseball 2005. Open up controller.cfg with Notepad. Now replace the keyboard1 section with the following text (always back up your file first, just in case): profile= Keyboard_Profile_1 device= Keyboard_Profile_1 player= 1 number_of_buttons= 0 number_of_povs= 0 number_of_axis= 0 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_START= key sc_esc VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SELECT= key sc_divide VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CROSS= key sc_down VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CIRCLE= key sc_right VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SQUARE= key sc_left VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_TRIANGLE= key sc_up VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L1= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R1= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L2= key sc_add VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R2= key sc_backslash VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L3= key sc_pagedown VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= key sc_pageup VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_RIGHT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_RIGHT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_PITCH_1= key sc_down VPAD_PITCH_2= key sc_right VPAD_PITCH_3= key sc_left VPAD_PITCH_4= key sc_up VPAD_PITCH_5= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_FIRST= key sc_right VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_SECOND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_THIRD= key sc_left VPAD_PITCH_OUT= key sc_down VPAD_THROW_BALL= key sc_rctrl VPAD_INTENTIONAL_WALK= key sc_numpad9 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_HITBATTER= key sc_numpad3 VPAD_PITCH_HISTORY_OPEN= key sc_rbracket VPAD_SWING_NORMAL= key sc_rctrl VPAD_SWING_BUNT= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_CHARGE_MOUND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_THROW_FIRST= key sc_right VPAD_FIELD_THROW_SECOND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_THROW_THIRD= key sc_left VPAD_FIELD_THROW_HOME= key sc_down VPAD_FIELD_SWITCH= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_FIELD_RELAY_THROW= key sc_add VPAD_FIELD_CUTOFF_THROW= key sc_subtract VPAD_FIELD_FAKE_RUNDOWN_THROW= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_RUNNER_FIRST_SELECT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_RUNNER_SECOND_SELECT= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_RUNNER_THIRD_SELECT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNFIRST= key sc_right VPAD_RUNNER_RUNSECOND= key sc_up VPAD_RUNNER_RUNTHIRD= key sc_left VPAD_RUNNER_RUNHOME2SCORE= key sc_down VPAD_BASERUNNER_ADVANCEALL= key sc_pageup VPAD_BASERUNNER_RETREATALL= key sc_pagedown

compmaniac
Could you please ask sjbushido? (PM him). His controls are better than mine, and he knows how to use them. (By the way, sjbushido, the thing I did (put your config as keyboard2) worked for one game, and the next game didn't work anymore.) :(
sjbushido
im not sure regarding the "keyboard 2" config, sorry, i only know regarding the keyboard
compmaniac
sjbushido, all i mean by "keyboard 2" is that I took your controls and named them "keyboard 2". It doesn't change the controls...hope you understood...JoltinJoeCarter needs your help explaining how you use your controls to slide and stuff... sjbushido
For the controls, they go as follows Slide Headfirst = Hold shift and NUMPAD8 Slide Headfirst angle right = Hold shift and NUMPAD8+9 Slide Headfirst angle left = Hold shift and NUMPAD 8+7 etc., Leading off = Hold Shift and Numpad 8, Decrease Lead (pansy =]) = Hold Shift and Numpad 2 RAM THE CATCHER! which i most dearly love, i believe is.. holdshift +nump ad 8.. not sure though, i kinda did it on accident when dave roberts leveled russel martin at home plate.
