sdoyle7798
Tonight's Dallas Stars/Edmonton Oilers game looked to be over witha Dallas having a 5-4 lead with 15 seconds left. The Oilers had their goalie pulled for an extra attacker, and the Stars Patrik Stefan steals the puck in the Edmonton zone and cruises on a breakaway toward the empty net, when the puck hits a rough patch of icer in the goal crease and bounces over his stick. Since the rest of the Stars were skating toward center ice to celebrate what they thought was a sure goal to ice the game, the Oilers were able to get two guys in the Dallas zone and put the puck past Marty Turco to tie the game. The Stars did win in the shootout, but still a WILD last 15 seconds. Check out the video HERE.
rolliefingers08
oh yeah, thats the stuff heart attacks are made of. especially when you are an oilers fan and had to live through losing the lead, and then losing in the shootout.
sdoyle7798
I wonder why he didnt just flick a little wrister from the circle or hash marks...lol. I realize that he was probably trying to use up more time while skating for the crease, and were it not for the blemish on the ice, it woulda worked. Hell, I woulda stopped and stood in front of the crease and wait till the defense was closer (not right on top of me) then tapped it in. Woulda wasted even more time, but also probably would have gotten me a crosscheck to the face or slash to the wrist after the goal...lol.
