CASHman296
What's up my fellow MVP enthusiasts?!? MVP 2005 (the gamecube version, yeah thats right, I said it) was without a doubt my favorite game of ALL time. It is truly the one and only game that I have ever played that I have NEVER gotten sick of. I could pick that game up today and continue a franchise I started well over 2 years ago. When I heard the news that it would no longer going to be made, I was truly devastated in my video gaming life. I bought 2k6 over the summer, but it didnt come close. I was literally sick of it just 2 weeks after playing. Frankly, it pissed me off. And now, in the boredom that is the winter lull, I have come looking for a few people just like me. And I found this site. I was surprised that a site like this even EXISTED, let alone was booming with followers. But then I saw the modding being done, and how you guys are basically creating and updating MVP baseball so that people like myself can play a worthwhile edition of baseball for the years to come. You guys truly deserve some recognition for the time and effort you're putting together. I just got a feeeeeeeew things that i'm pondering, and would like a few responses on the following subjects. 1. What is the future of the MVP franchise (outside of the modding done here)? Does EA have plans to renew MVP into the MLB world (non-NCAA) when the contract between 2k and MLB is up? Anyone have insider info on that subject? 2. How big of a following does this game still have? Do you plan on making these mods for years to come, or will you slowly ease it out/give it up? 3. What are the plans for the future of this site? Does this site, not the mods, have a big following? Is there any master plan to talk to EA (already done that?) or create a broader fan base with articles, links, etc? 4. Keep up the good work! I love finding this kind of stuff on the internet, here I was thinking I was one of very few so IN LOVE with this baseball game. I'll never touch another baseball game unless it has the same feel, same gameplay as MVP. It was truly a masterpiece. Woo.

Trues
Welcome to the site. 1. What is the future of the MVP franchise (outside of the modding done here)? How big of a following does this game still have? Do you plan on making these mods for years to come, or will you slowly ease it out/give it up? Because it's the last PC (arcade) baseball game we may ever see , I'd say it still has a pretty descent following. The mods do help keep it fresh. I can't speak for anyone else but I plan to keep modding this game until it's no longer fun. 3. What are the plans for the future of this site? Does this site, not the mods, have a big following? Is there any master plan to talk to EA (already done that?) or create a broader fan base with articles, links, etc? This site will remain as long as the interest is there. As far as EA goes, they don't like us much. 4. Keep up the good work! I love finding this kind of stuff on the internet, here I was thinking I was one of very few so IN LOVE with this baseball game. sdoyle7798
This site will remain as long as the interest is there. As far as EA goes, they don't like us much. I was under the impression that EA really didn't have an opinion on the site. Although I suspect no one likes their game being changed, even with the modders not getting paid for it. You COULD argue this site keeps intrest in the game. While I know that since they are not currently making a new baseball game, maybe it could convince them to do what they can to reaquire the licensing when the time comes. Probably just wishfull thinking, but still...
CASHman296
Excuse me while I look foolish, but when exactly does the current license end? I was under the impression that it was a 5 year deal or so.

I was under the impression that it was a 5 year deal or so. Welcome to the site. Never be afraid to ask a question. What I would do if you have a chance is to get the PC version of this game. Then check out the downloads. You'll be busy for a long time.
CASHman296
I've never been a PC gamer, in fact the last PC video game I played was Triple Play 2001. Yeeeeeeah. Would I need a joystick or controller plug in for the game? How much was added with the mod(s) to MVP 06? If it really is worth it I would gladly jump on board, I havent played a good baseball game in a long long time. Again, what are the controls like for a PC baseball game? Is it as easy to use as it is on a console?
Yankee4Life
Yeah, you would need a joystick, and it is very easy to use and get used to. Do yourself a favor now and check out the download section. Look at the uniforms you can have for this game, new stadiums, CTS Screens, etc, etc. Honest to God, you'll want the PC version right away. Mav3rek
You may want the PC version, but good like finding a copy. It's extremely hard to find for a half way decent price. Most of them are upwards of 50 or 60 dollars, some even in the 80's. for example right now on amazon there are 3 copies available, but the cheapest one is 149.

TwentySeven
Yeah, you would need a joystick, and it is very easy to use and get used to. Well, you don't need a stick - I can play the game perfectly fine without one, it's still a great game.
DJEagles
Nice first post. Welcome to the site. If I were you I would run out and look for the PC version...the modding is what makes this game still enjoyable, almost three years later.
