Nothing beats the first version on the N64. That game was as complete as you can get, despite no CAPers.

Agreed. I couldn't get enough of that game. I'd keep playing and owning computer trying to reach high scoring games like 80+ runs scored by my Yankees. :D

The thing that's killing it for me is that blurred background. Doesn't that bother anyone else?

I like it. Its just for those closeups of the players right or instant replays? Its a way to make the detail of the players 'pop'. Its kinda like in the game Call of Jaurez where what your focusing on looks clear and everything else in the perrifial blurred.

As the father of this thread, I bring you two new articles. Each article has impressions from playing a newer version of the game, newer than the one at CES.

http://sports.ign.com/articles/757/757962p2.html

http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1521...aseball-2K7/p1/

Gotta keep this thread fresh! It's nice to see that they corrected the Yankees logos! Looks like they pay attention to boards on the net!

I guess they aren't going to fix the beer bellies! lol

They just need to loosen up the shirts on the players because I have seen no one in MLB wear their shirt that tight especially the big guys. The big guys tend to wear it loose as to not show off their ... let's say their worst features.

"For the most part, the core gameplay in MLB 2K7 is largely the same as that found in the last entry in the series"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

If you read the whole thing (which I'm sure you did), you'll notice that they are talking about the pitching mode and that really wasn't that bad in 2k6.

why are you being so negative Immac ? The game already looks 3x better, the gameplay was improved a bit. So what if the pitching and batting is the same. They fixed the throwing system and the lags. Plus the reviews say it's fairly different. Can't wait to try the XBOX Live Demo.

Because I believe the game will suck.

Yea seriously, if you hate the game, don't post in the thread, and don't buy it.

Whilewe have fun playing 2k7, you can have fun pissing and moaning telling everyone it sucks, while damn well you know it's going to be good.

I'm only allowed to post in this thread if I am going to hype up a game that's not even released and was dreadful last year? OK I'll remember that. Please forgive me.

I feel like if 2K6 didn't have all the bugs it had, it would have been easier to give the 2k style of gameplay a chance. This year, with all those bugs fixed, sure I'll give the game a fair chance.

It took me a while to appreciate NHL07, but now I love it. It's just a matter of getting used to a different style of play. I mean, I love the NHL2K series, I never thought there would be something else that could rival it.

This is why I'll give the game about 10 days of play time before I make a final conclusion on it.

LOL at people getting mad at me for being skeptical about this game.

Same here, I rented NHL 07 and hated it. The controls were crazy, and there were other little things that i didnt like. After getting bored with 2k7, I tried NHL 07 one more time, and now I love it. I just needed to give it some time.

Did EA patch NHL07 for the 360? I got it when it first came out and while I liked the new, innovative controls, the AI was brutal(think of chickens running around with their heads cut off). No strategic flow to the game and lousy defense. Animations were lacking frames, etc. I loved the Goalies animations though.

Basically, the reviews said the same thing. What has changed since for the 360 version? Was it ever patched?

I think hes the only person who doesnt want a baseball game to dominate MVP 05

I have always loved the 2k Hockey series but in a beer and pretzels way. I bought NHL 07 and hated it the first few games. Now I'm hooked. It is, simply put, the best hockey ever made. It is raw as hell, but in the next few offerings it will be something to behold. So, sidewinder, my advice is to wait till next year.

Did you ever play 2K6? It had the absolute worst gameplay you could ever ask for. Who cares if it changed only a little bit, it needs a lot more than "just a little bit" to be any good. And what happens when you're not able to mod the awful parts of the game? The players are all fat, and the windblown effect looks fake as hell. It doesn't impress me much at all.

Good call. That was my thinking also. Nice engine to build on but too early in the game to own, especially with IMHO better options. I feel the same way about Madden too. Didnt buy it this year but have hopes for next. Love the PC version though.

2k6 did have a large learning curve, but u get used to it; however I feel as though in adopting a more technical control scheme they simply achieved a depth equal to it's predecessors anyway. but at least the scheme will work better now.

did inside edge ever help any at batting?

even worse its statistical nature is so random i feel as if it's hard to win a game no matter what (not i don't have baserunning down yet), not to mention hard to get any achievements for the 360, let alone be in an appropriate situation for it. i loves me some achievements

does 2k7 have 25 man AAA-A rosters?

will it have InsideEdge?
