Editor's Pick

What kind of downloads can receive "Editor's Pick"? Do you think that my download (http://mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=3736.html) will ever merit an "Editor's Pick"?

Also, can some people give me ideas for mods I can make? I'm really bad at programming, and I don't know where to start...and what I would be good at...

It's not about what you do to your upload that separates it from the rest, it really has to stand out from the crowd at first glance. If it's an original idea that changes the game for a lot of people and is well-made, it'll likely be chosen. If it's a pretty basic thing that doesn't do much and only helps a small selection of people, or isn't particularly necessary, it'll be hard-pressed to be chosen.

If you want an idea of what is chosen as an editor's pick, take a look through the current list and that should give you an idea of the kind of calibre of mod that is chosen as an editor's pick.

You are kidding, right? Do yourself a favor and look at the mods that have become an editor's choice pick. You'll see the Total Classics mods, the 1961 and 1967 classic seasons, stadiums created by the team of Paulw and SeanO. Stadiums created by PaulW by himself also. Look at the detail in those ballparks. KC's uniform pack, Fuzzone's Studio, Hory's Total Portraits, Kraw's Mvp 2006 mod. See what I am getting at? These are the major mods here. And I know I am missing many other Editor's Choice mods.

Start a new thread with this question. Maybe some people out there will come up with some ideas. The mod you did make was good, and I am sure a lot of people will use it. Thank you for it.

No, because it completely screws up the aspect ratio of the image

But if I don't screw it up...it'll leave white space around the image...so kraw, can you give me some ideas on what I should do to it without screwing up aspect ratio, but make it still look nice?

Its not an editor's pick because it does nothing for the game play. It doesn't add realism, it doesn't improve game mechanics, its just something to help people get through 3 useless seconds so they could actually play the game.

Probably not. It needs to be a significant part of the game, like rosters, the whole TC conversion, uniform packs, any program by tywiggins, etc. I was actually surprised my roster got an Editor's Pick since it's only been out for a couple weeks. Thanks to whoever EP'ed it. :)

Anyways, try to find something significant that hasn't been done before, or find your niche making jerseys, rosters, or cyberfaces. That's the easiest way, I would guess.

And your point being?

Without a 2006 schedule it would not be possible to re-enact the 2006 season.

I think you're going about this the wrong way, the editor's pick was introduced to give users some indication of what is an essential download out of the 3000+ files on this site.

That's not to say that those without an 'editor's pick' are unworthy though.

However to me, at least, a CTS screen maker is pretty much non-essential.
