Is EA Sports finished with MVP Baseball?

It always seems that us baseball junkies lose out when it comes to baseball games. I was wondering if EA Sports is going to revisit MVP Baseball "MLB Version" again or is this year going to be MVP2008 "The road to Williamsport"...

ea sports does not have the rights to major league baseball, so they can not make a mlb game with real players and teams. take2 has the rights to the mlb so they and only third party developers can make the game.

They should just make an engine, and then the modders here can fill in the rosters

if either company really cared about their fans, ea should just share the nfl rights and take2 the mlb rights. i honestly think they would both make the same if not more money by sharing the rights, because honestly its a business, all they care about is money.

.. but that only serves to a small percentage of people who buy the game. The average person who goes out and buys MVP, first of all often for Playstation and XBOX, where mods are fewer and farther between, is not into the modding community and does not frequent a site like this.

2K does have exclusive rights, but they are the only third party that can make a MLB game. First party companies can too, i.e. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.

PC baseball is dead.

Do you think it'll ever come back?

Yeah right, Madden sells 1,000,000 times more than the baseball game.

It is about money and money only

do they still own High Heat or did they sell it?

I don't know, I think they stop making it.... I remember High Heat being a 3DO game not microsoft if I remember clearly.

3DO is a 3rd party company, Microsoft is 1st party.

Microsoft made the All-Star Baseball games I think.

I guess the thing that surprises me is that I would have figured MVP05 to be a success for EA. They must have made money on the deal...(does anyone know?)...as most copies of the game would have sold out.

I'm just shocked that 2K either considers that PC isnt a cost effective or profitible platform to convert their baseball games to. I would have figured that this site alone was enough proof that the game would sell on PC. How can you ignore such a large dominant platform given EA's success with MVP05? (sorry I know most of these questions are rhetorical).
