The Big O
I think what will eventually wind up happening in 15-20 years is that gaming consoles will begin to fade because PCs will catch up and be able to equal the graphic potential, along with normal computing operations. If this does happen, why buy a console when you can just get a PC that can do all this plus more. As I've said before PCs and consoles will merge and the PC/console will be the entertainment center where you can browse the web on your TV, watch movies, listen to music and play games. This is where we are headed.
tywiggins
Because PC's don't come with 50 inch High Definiton Plasma Displays. Playing games on a monitor sucks. Consoles don't come with 50 inch High Definition Plasma Displays either. It's not that difficult to connect your PC to a TV.
GEOLINK
If that's true why could I buy MVP 2005 for the XBOX at the video game store today? They are selling it at Wal Mart for example. See: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3533353 Immac MVP Baseball for platforms aren't very hard too find. I can go right now to my local Gamestop and find MVP for the 3 platforms that it came out for like less than 10 dollars. Thing is, that PC is special is because people have the ability too Mod it, and little EA doesn't want that happening so they stop making MVP copies and now people are making a buck over on the internet. BigRog
the other thing is that ea has stopped selling copies. if a store has a copy in stock though they will sell it. you could also easily find a used copy of mvp for a consol at gamestop or eb because of how old it is and people are trading them in (i also think more copies for console where made then pc) but the only reason pc is sold out is because of the whole mod thing
itmike
As I've said before PCs and consoles will merge and the PC/console will be the entertainment center where you can browse the web on your TV, watch movies, listen to music and play games. This is where we are headed. Were already there you can easily set up your PC to already to do that and plus be able to totally customize it.... Now they may put it in a new fancy box and call it something different but essentially it will be the same CPU, Memory, GPU, HDD, Opt. Disk Drive. As for the monitor sucking on your PC if your really want you can buy a projector that throws a 100" diagonal 16:9 image from 9.7' to 19.6' and does 1080P for $3999. Thats cheap compared to some of the TV's out there.
RedSoxFox7
The ability to hire/fire managers, pitching coaches, and 1b/3b coaches would be an exceptional addition for the next PC MLB game. You can already do that in MVP in Owner mode, with the exception of base coaches.
MarlinsMS_35
I heard a rumor that EA Sports is going to buy out 2k sports. Wich would mean MVP Baseball again.

Kccitystar
This game will never get old if we knew how to edit the 3D player models. After a while it gets stale knowing that everybody's 3D model is the same give or take a few polygons. That file is called hibody.o and it has about 128 parts. I only mess with it for the sole purpose being to test out certain textures and to see how my cleats map onto the 3D shoe model, and to test out spungo's gloves and see how they map on the 3D glove model. It would be real cool if someone knew how to edit these kinds of things... Also, there is a program called Milkshape that oedit can extract points to so that you can be able to edit the 3D models properly or smooth out the edges or whatever but nobody has really made a plugin for milkshape that can reimport the points which sucks. Sean O
This game will never get old if we knew how to edit the 3D player models. After a while it gets stale knowing that everybody's 3D model is the same give or take a few polygons. Even then, we can't add stadiums or increase their sizes past a certain point, owner mode is messed up, pitcher stamina was never fixed, etc etc. It would take a major effort to crack any of these, in order to really push the game to the next level. Also, there is a program called Milkshape that oedit can extract points to so that you can be able to edit the 3D models properly or smooth out the edges or whatever but nobody has really made a plugin for milkshape that can reimport the points which sucks. The main "great leap forward" in my department would be importing/exporting out of a CAD program, so that we could actually real-time see the changes, and do more than just dumping out vertices. If I could import a file into vectorworks or something similar, and have my work exported in a vertex-friendly environment, then we'd just have to create collision data and we'd have a fully functional system. There is some hope for the part-based system not being completely unchangable, as MarlinsMY managed to create a lighthouse, or import it from another completely different part. mellberg4
Hi. There are some plugins for milkshape in terms of import/export,but talking from some pretty bloody frustrating experiences, the plugins RARELY WORK. The idea of Sean O's importing/exporting out of a CAD program is brilliant, and something i would love to try. The new version of vectorworks(12?) "apparently" has a improved(im basing this on word of mouth,so don't shoot me down if im wrong!) import/export feature,BUT it seems to be mainly a mac program, there are hybrid windows versions u can download off certain torrent "websites" (which id be scared to do anyways),but alas that also rarely works. Ive modded little bits of FIFA(05,06,07) in the past, ive learnt everything off my cousin who is progamer. I really want to make a postive difference for Pc Mvp'ers ,i was thinking for 08.So i going to give it a real good try this weekend(ive got nothing do,going crazy waiting for smallville to return from its mini break!), and see if can't at least make a little progress. If i suck,i suck!,but if i have some progress, who knows what we can do for MVP08. Thanks, sorry for the long msg.
