customizing coaches

Has anyone ever figured out a way to do this so that we can give each coach in our organization his real name & even add a cyberface for him if we want to? I seem to remember somebody was tinkering with the idea but I am unsure as to whatever came of it. Thanks.

what do you mean? you can do it in mvpedit. select your team and hit the "team" button.

to my knowledge it isn't that easy...am I missing something?

I'll take a look at this sometime today. I'd be interested in adding all the minor league coaches in.

I wish you luck KG. I seem to remember awhile back that somebody tried to figure this out. I think that you CAN edit the minor league coaches but if you edit one then they all have the same name & appearance, atleast according to the method that this person used. BTW, I'm working on a Hannibal Sanchez cf for you, hope to have it done before too long. Cheers!

You can customize the managers on the major league teams. In MVPEdit, click on the Team button in the menu bar and when the popup window appears, click on the Manager tab. Once there, you will find the information that you can edit (name, face, height, weight, manager ratings, etc.).

You can edit manager attributes for the minor league managers, however, those attributes will then apply to every minor league team, since the game only stores attributes for one minor league manager.

I just tried giving a few minor league managers a name, but like you said, every manager had that name then. Do you see any way to fix that? That would add a nice level of realism to the game.

yeah i totally misunderstood what this was about, hence my baffled response:) but it is rather interesting. i haven't found any way around it.

Unfortunately, there is no way around it and it cannot be done. Here is the end of the manager.dat file that is part of the rosters:

You'll note the 4 major league managers (Jim Tracey, Alan Trammell, Eric Wedge and Ned Yost), and then the last entry for "A Manager". This last entry is the single minor league entry that applies to every minor league team (all 90 of them) in MVP2005. The game is hard coded to use this last entry for the minor league mangers.
