Horrible loss.

Yeah, it was pretty damned sickening. Lowry placed his pitches well, but Rockies hitters covered the entire plate tonight, hitting everything close very hard. And the Giants offense just isn't powerful enough to keep up that sort of pace.

3perct4.jpg

Oliver Perez was stellar today, improving to 5-1 on the season with a two-hit shutout. After walking

Randy Winn to lead off the first inning, Perez retired 22 straight hitters...

...before Bengie Molina singled in the eighth inning, ending Perez's no-hit bid. Molina also broke up a

perfect game by Dodgers hurler Randy Wolf in the ninth inning on April 6.

Moises Alou was perfect in his return to San Francisco, going 4-4 with a triple and an RBI. In the top of

Bochy Locks Reporters Out of Clubhouse Following 5-0 Loss in Game One of Doubleheader

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - After Giants players cleared the dugout following their 5-0 loss to the New York Mets in game one of today's doubleheader - a game in which they managed just two hits - Bruce Bochy cleared the locker room of reporters and locked the doors.

When asked about the situation, Giants general manager Brian Sabean had this to say:

"If Bruce thinks that this needs to be done, I'm behind him 100 percent. The team is drastically underachieving right now, and sometimes things need to be done to shake it's foundation. It's only the first week of May, so there's time to turn this around. But you've got to start fixing problems now, when they arise - not in August. By then, it's too late."

Game two of the doubleheader is scheduled to start at approximately 5:35pm PST. No lineups have been announced at this time.

Maine has never faced San Francisco.

First pitch of game two is scheduled for 5:35pm PST.

Oliver perez is really good in this game, I haven't been able to hit him either.

He's f'n filthy. That performance was about 80% him, 20% slump.

When we connect with pitches right now (which, against Perez, didn't happen often), they go right at people. So it's something that I'm just going to have to fight through.

Hopefully they'll start falling soon because it's making me sick watching the Bums and Rockies stretch their lead.

aww man giants are getting roasted alive! c'mon GIANTS!! go go go!

yeah, it's been a rough go of it lately...hopefully we can turn this thing around sooner rather than later.

They were my present to him for doing such a fine dynasty.

ah.. they sure are sparkling.. luv the lowry one.. hahah

i'm a huge fan of the lowry one too - thanks again kg :D
