Gordo
You guys did an amazing job with this mod. I can't begin to understand how you know how to coordinate all of this....so I won't try! I did wonder how can I make the pitching meter roughly the same size as the 05/05 meter. Seems a tad on the small size.
mvp23
I was wondring that my self. It`s kind of challeging but still I miss the old pich meter.
fred13
you have to edit your ingame.big file if I'm not mistaken.
angryrat
theres probably a billion threads on this issue since there seemed like a million complaints with it in '06. I say, get better at pitching.
Gordo
theres probably a billion threads on this issue since there seemed like a million complaints with it in '06. I say, get better at pitching. The 06 complaints were about the positioning of the meter, not the size. So, your "billions and millions", Carl Sager, is a tad off. As far as the "get better" suggestion...... do I really need to comment? Wait, come to think of it, why don't they make it the size of the head of a pin? Then we'd REALLY have to get better at pitching. :morons:
Lars777
I agree with the small pitching meter......at first! Then after playing for a while you get used to it.......it is way more challenging than the old pitch meter. Pitches that I could count on before now are harder to throw but you feel much better when you get the strike out. At least I do.......keepers for me! duckdodger215
yeah, i admit the original was too easy, but the one from 06 and now 07 was just a lil too small. on a scale of 0-100, with 05 being 0 and 07 being 100, a meter around the 75 level would be awesome. did that make any sense???? eddiebmets
I was wondring that my self. It`s kind of challeging but still I miss the old pich meter. I agree with you 100% The meter is a tad small and in "hitters eye" view the top of the bar covers the pitchers head!!! I decided to install the espn overlay, which fixed the problem. I was telling you that, because if you search that, you will find the answers were usually suggestions of changing the datafile, in which you could get some good recommendations from people in those threads. I wasn't trying to start an argument. Play a bit, like the other person said, and you will probably enjoy the difficulty of throwing the strikes. it's a fun challenge. it makes you think about what you want to try to throw each pitch, a little more. sumo28
Well i've been looking for the same thing man. The people at the EAmods forum didn't help much, nobody addressed the questions about this at all and there are no topics on the forums about this there nor are there datafile downloads. And here all they do is link you to topics that tell you to use the search button, or adapt to the game, or say that many people have already asked, or tell you to set your game input setting to 50. I found out that you can replace the mvp 07 'datafile' file (located in .... data/datafile) with the one on your disc, but that probably changes a lot of other settings too so I don't know. The datafile download section is here: http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/search/se...147/page=5.html If the issue has been gone over SOOOO many times I wonder why someone hasn't addressed it for 07 lol. Right now I'm going to have to try to find out how to uncompress and recompress this stupid thing or i'll just use my old datafile or i'll pick one of the many ones at this site at random i guess. You are right. You`ll change other things if you replace the datafile.txt with the original. I do not know what exactlly but if you open your datafile you`ll see there are other files in there also. sumo28
Well they have the decompression and recompression utilities at the download sections if u can figure out how to use them and find what values to put in (someone mentioned the default pitching meter values in another thread that i can't find right now). BUT I can't get it to work. DF Compression Utility is looking for datafile.txt but datafile is a BIG (not as in size, the extension is .big as in datafile.big) file. I tried saving it as a .txt file but that isn't really doing anything. edit: agh i changed my folder options to stop hiding extensions that windows doesn't recognize and changed datafile.big to datafile.txt .... but the uncompressed version looks just the same as the compressed one in notepad... i guess that doesn't work huh? omg this is so annoying. sumo28
OK! I think I finally figured it out after like 5 hours. I used a program called 'bigGUI' which you can easily google to extract datafile.txt from datafile.BIG. Then I downloaded the MVP 2005 compression utility from the download section of this site and edited the following things like someone said to do in another thread: 34 accuracywidth 0.120 40 linespeed 0.750 50 badaccuracywidth 0.15 141 perfectaccuracygreen 255 143 Perfectaccuracyalpha 255 144 perfectaccuracysize 0.25 It seems to work... I hope I did ok lol. 152 accuracygreen
kgbaseball
See what happens when people take the time to help themselves? They end up helping others. Hopefully other people will be as inquisitive as you and look to change the pitching meter the same way you did. Nice job, sumo. :)
pfalvey
Check out the new downloads, someone uploaded a the same datafile that's in MVP07 with the only change being the original MVP 05 pitching meter.
philliesphan18
Personally, I think the pitching meter (hard as it may be) adds a touch of reality to the game. I mean come on, you're not supposed to throw strikes every pitch!

edm
If anyone's interested, I will upload the datafile I'm using. It contains all the settings in the 07 datafile with a couple small changes. One change is the pitch meter, which is slightly larger in mine, but harder than EA's default.
DRutka
I uploaded the datafile here http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=3778.html All this does is change the pitch meter for the MVP 07 mod to the 05 settings. Everything else from the MVP 07 mod will remain the same.

As for DaFlyboys... The Urlacher comment... I don't know what to tell you. He's pretty awesome. He is better than millions and billions of other people in this world at linebacking. ps- ill change the signature to something baseball related when i have the time to create one for this season. thunder00x
um the datafile that has the old pitch meter is not working. does anyone know what the problem is or can anyone put the one back on there? just for like others trying to get it and not just for me. i trying to help all the other people that have been trying to download it too. the small one does though put a little more realistic to the game which is a challenge too.
