created player extraction project

I have a save game roster that i have put hours and hours of time in, since i bought mvp in late 05.

this roster has around 15 created players that i have made, most of which are accurate representations of my friends and i (bumped to major league standards).

I have made hundreds of trades all over the majors and minors. Every team is greatly altered. This is a really close project of mine, however i am being troubled because all the players in the game are based off a super old UR. There are several prospects and normal players that don't exist.

I want to start fresh with a current roster, but have all of my created players put into the new roster without remaking them.

Is it possible to extract players from a .sav roster, or even a dynasty (as i have one with this roster too)?

I would appreciate any help, would tys dat importer be able to do it? if so, is it easy to do?.

i love the 07 as well as the 06 mod. I play games with the updated rosters all the time, but i want to keep my 2 year project going, while having updated rosters.

Please help me figure out how i can keep my created players, while using a brand new roster.

i have the roster and dynasty .sav's attached

the dynasty is slightly more updated, but it doesnt matter which one i use

-edit-

its hosted on filefront, heres the link

the rosters can appear quite humerous

Yes there is way. Before you do anything you would need to backup your .DAT files in your database folder. After that follow these steps.

1. Open MVPEdit and import those .DAT files found in your database folder.

2. There is an option in MVPEdit that lets you export one player at a time. Use that function to export the players that you want included.

3. Next, install the new set of rosters you want to use.

4. Once you have extracted your new .DAT files, open up MVPEdit again.

5. Import the new .DAT files that you just extracted.

6. There is another option in MVPEdit that lets you import one player at a time.

7. Use that function and import the players that you exported in step 2.

8. Finally click on the "Check Errors" tab to make sure you don't have any errors in your updated roster.

9. Finally, export your updated .DAT files into your database folder.

EDIT: MVPEdit also allows you to modify the stats of your players. So you can utilize that if you don't want them to have the stats that they had from your current dynasty.

i don't know about ty's program, but mvpedit can help you with your default rosters. just simply open your rosters, go to File>Export. you will see options for team and player on there. do whichever you wish. but you can save each individual player or team, and then import them into your updated rosters.

when i import the current database files, my created players aren't there. wouldn't i have to have it get something from my .sav file?

Ok. I understand. You would need to download TyWiggins' import/export program. That would provide you with the .DAT files that you would need to export your players.

That program can be found in the download section. Hope that helps. Take care.

yes. if you created them in your default rosters to begin with (with mvpedit). if you created them in the game and saved them to the rosters, then i don't know of any way to get them out.

dang, yeah i didn't create them with mvpedit.

would i be able to extract my players from the dynasty file using the importer exporter program?

Yes. That is possible. When you run the importer/exporter program it extracts the .DAT files of your current dynasty. And those are the files that you would use to grab your created players.

it's fairly easy to use. just make sure you read the readme carefully. i don't know if it'll work or not since i'm not that familiar with it, but there's only one way to tell.

well there you go, it sounds like his importer/exporter should do the trick for you. this should give you the dat files you need for mvpedit. from there you can export your players.

ran the exporter, getting an error in mvp edit

Run time error "3022)

the changes you requested to the table were not successfull because the would create duplicate values in the index, primary key or relationship. change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate date, remove the intex, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try agian

so i gave it a test run and it worked fine for me. not sure what you did. so i guess i'll tell you what i did to make it work.

1. created a folder called Test on my desktop

2. installed ty's importerexporter program in it

3. opened MVP and went to manage rosters. i created a test player "homer simpson" and added him to the roster.

4. saved the roster

5. exited from roster management and started a new dynasty, making sure it says "yes" on default rosters.

6. pressed the "windows" button to minimize MVP

7. opend the Test folder and double clicked the Exporter and let it do its thing

8. opened MVPEdit and hit the import button. searched for the Test folder, and saved the roster as Test.

9. once MVPEdit loaded the roster, homer simpson was exactly where i placed him.
