created player extraction project

so a quick rundown for anyone new reading this.

trying to extract about 15 created players made in game from a saved roster or dynasty (they're in both).

i want to import these players into a new roster (probably kg's)

i've ran ty's importer/exporter from my dynasty with these rosters.

when i import the files from the exported files in mvpedit, i get the following error

Run time error "3022"

the changes you requested to the table were not successful because the would create duplicate values in the index, primary key or relationship. change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate date, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again.

i have the roster and dynasty files in a zip file in an earlier post.

Is there anything i can do to pull these players without manually recreating all of them?

if anyone else wants to take a crack at it, the majority of the players are on kansas city, but you'll see where every created player is at in the edit player screen.

any help would be nice

did you do a search in mvpedit to see if the player was there? otherwise, try loading your roster in the game and then don't use the default rosters when you start the dynasty :) who knows, maybe it'll work!

or...you can go into your game, load the roster you want and make sure to save it as such. then load me your sav file.

actually, i just took a closer look. once you load the rosters, and then start your dynasty, make sure that the option for default rosters says no. oops. that should do it. hopefully.

done. it worked fine for me, and yes all those guys were in there. i'll give you the link through your pm. so this leads me to this question...have you ever used mvpedit before? because you may not be using it correctly.

now once you get this mbe file i'm sending, you're going to use MVPedit to open it. then, you're going to find the players you want to save and transfer to any updated roster you want. to do that:

1. in mvpedit, to to File>Export>Player

2. find the player you want, for instance "homer simpson"

3. then it's going to ask you where to save it, so pick a place and name it whatever, such as "homer simpson"

4. this will create an mep file

5. you're going to repeat this for whoever you want. if you want to do a whole team, you may do that also, instead of each individual player

6. once done. use mvpedit again and load the roster you want to use.

7. you're now going to import each individual player by doing the same thing, except use the Import>Player function instead

not necessary. i try not to take donations, unless they're persistent about it. i'm not about to fight over it :) besides, how can i not help out a fellow mariners fan? just don't piss me off, or else! anyhow good luck with it, it was a good learning experience. besides, don't thank me, thank tywiggins. if anything, you should donate to him.

that is true.

cant wait man for the season to start. i'll probably end up at safeco 15 times or so. you ever look through that roster of mine. it was my boredom filler, filled with guys i played ball with over the last 3 or 4 summers.

alot of players are on alot of teams they'd never be on.

nah, i never took a close look. although i did happen to glance at your mariners roster...andy pettite eh? coco crisp? :)

no big deal, you should see my rosters. they're pretty wild too. i like to combine the past players with the current players. but hell, it wouldn't be modding if we didn't get to have it the way we wanted. i blacked out a couple names for privacy sake of course.

see my thing was that i would never play the mariners since i couldnt let myself beat them. i played as the royals, well cause they sucked. The mariners were my personal team to pick from, and to make random trades. you should see the astros, or the brothers as it looks.

I think you would need to have a different version of MVPEdit to access the 04 data files.

Also, you could give Lahman's database a try. It will import all of the player's information except for his ratings. You would have to create the ratings yourself.
