are the yankees missing any faces?

Not from the bigs, but you know face makers like to make some less-mentioned prospects or minor leaguers for their teams. I respect that they wanna make a face pack for their team, I just wish I knew how to do faces well so I could make a pack for the Yankees lol.

Chuck Lofgren:

Trevor Crowe:

Now, I need some pointers on Crowe (and basically just Oedit tips). As you can see his eyes are weird -- is there some way to fix this or is the the base I was working with? Secondly, I'd like to modify his headshape a little bit and I'm not sure what's the best way. I've tried Oedit and using the face from the front (top left corner picture in Oedit), but I always select too many points and it's so hard to tell which part exactly you have to select. Some basic tips would really help me I think, because it's time I start using Oedit for my cyberfaces (haven't used it so far, aside from fixing hair).

anyway, Homer, Thr33nil, whoever has experience, let me know. Thanks.

He better be! I have been requesting Crowe's face for over a year now and finally pulled something off myself that atleast resembles him a little bit.

Honestly, I don't think either of them are very good. Crowe shows at least a resemblance, but I'm afraid that's not the case for Lofgren. Chuck's face is a little more round than that.

i don't have a pic of these guys so it's hard to say about his headshape...both textures are very good though.

lofgren: you could rotate his dimples so that they match up and it doesn't look like he's got a huge smile. otherwise a good texture.

crowe: the eyse are a simple fix. whenever the eyes pop out of the upper eyelids like that, simply open the uvmapper and select the eye at the bottom left of the screen. you will usually only need to select the actual eye, and not the whole eyeball. then close the uvmapper, and go into the bottom left window. select move and vetical. simply move the eye "down" a bit, which will move it inside the eye socket a little bit and should solve this problem. the only other thing is the mapping of the left eye. the inside part right next to the nose that is. this is simply a mapping issue. again open uvmapper and select the points over the inside part of that eye. select move and horizontal and move it until it matches up better. use your preview model to look closely at what effect the moving has on your face.

anyhow that's really all that i could see. can't say much about the headshape since i don't know what they really look like.

okay, so a few things:

his face is too long. move the lips up closer to the nose. make the chin shorter. move everything from the nose to the chin up, closer to the eyes. and then make the eyes smaller. i think that should do it.

actually, you could probably move the entire face up a little too, this will make him look like he wears his hat lower.

not even close

I appreciate the critisism Kraw, but perhaps it can be a little more constructive next time.

Anyway, I'll try and find a better headshape for Lofgren. Thanks for the tips Homer.

I ran into a little problem here:

crowestrangemu8.jpg

I have moved the eyes down and inside a little bit, but judging from that picture I may have went too far?

also, when I select the cheeks for example with uvmapper and I move them either horizontally or vertically, it doesn't show up in my preview picture in the bottom right corner. is that normal?

EDIT: Nevermind. I tried moving it within the uv map editor, but I shouldn't have. Oedit is very tricky though, it's pretty tough to move things around. Which brings me to another point, or two even -- how do you make lips look thinner and how can you select an entire face to move up or down?

i select everything i want from the uvmapper. this way i know what exactly each point is for. if moving the whole face, make sure to select the points for the mouth, throat, and eyeballs. then go back into one of the other four windows and use the "move" option to actually move the entire face.

it's tricky, but you just gotta practice. that eye problem above is an easy fix. all it is is a mapping problem. use the uvmapper for this. just select the points you want in uvmapper, and then also in uvmapper, use the "move" option again to move it until it lines up like you want it to.

yes, move the ears down. in the pic above, his ears are below the level of his eyes, plus they're smaller. also, hos whole face from the bridge of the nose and down can move up a little. this will make his nose shorter. then make the adjustments necessary to make his hat sit lower on his face too. lastly, his jaw isn't that prominent. take a little off the angle of the jaw. his chin comes to a point, but i think you made it too sharp, and not long enough.

yeah, I'm using his pressbox. Unless there's a better picture to work with, the color will be a bit darker, but I've tried to lighten it up as much as possible without losing texture.

I'm now using Thr33nil's Ben Broussard face. It's almost done, I just need to work on the eyes and there's something wrong with the chin.

Here's a preview pic:

croweoeditmq6.jpg

I wanna make the eyes little smaller and as you can see something is sticking out in jaw/chin area. I'm just trying to figure which part exactly.

okay here's a preview picture. I'd really like to get some advice on this one, as I think it's pretty close, but not yet perfect, so if you wanna tell me what needs to be changed I'd really appreciate it.

Btw, Homer ... many thanks for the Oedit tips. It's a hard program to work with, but I'm sure it will get easier with more experience. It definately goes a long way to make a cyberface look more life-like.
