grandma
Has anyone run into the problem of not being able to alt/tab or windows button out to the desktop when MVP 2005 (or even the new MVP 07 mod) is running? I've updated my video drivers for my video card (Ge Force 5200) to no avail. The funny thing is that I used to be able to do it no problem but now I cannot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yes I have.. It happened only 1 out of every 10 times with the 06 patch, but almost all the time with the 07 Patch.. Not sure why! I hate that,,
grandma
I've tried that as well. I can't get to the desktop from anywhere in the game...during play, at the menu screen, etc. I've tried all the various methods I know (ctrl/alt/del, windows + m, ctrl/shft/esc...no dice) It's really odd b/c I've never had this problem before and it came out of nowhere. Btw, thanks for the quick reply!
grandma
Samoggi, did the patch also make this problem occur when you tried the original 2005? I've got the mvp 07 mod installed in a separate folder but the same problem occurs even when I use my original 2005 .exe. Perhaps installing the 07 mod caused this in some way? Timp
control + escape works for me
twistoffate
Yes, I've had that problem. It has something to do with Ge force i think. Because i changed out my ge force for ATI and it doesnt crash anymore when I alt tab. I think if you do it while its "loading" it will work without crashing, cant remember tho. Cash #25
Experiment with different resolutions for your desktop vs your game. In my case, they need to be the same. This usually works.
grandma
At what resolution does the game run so I can adjust my desktop accordingly?
Cash #25
You can find that in the game under video options.

compmaniac
How come on my computer, the game won't minimize if the resolution of the game is the same as my desktop resolution? (My desktop resolution is 1280x1024, and I have to settle for 1024x768 resolution in the game since I minimize a lot.)
grandma
I have the same issue...when the resolutions match...no minimize is possible. I can now at least alt/tab out of a running game if I set the game resolution to 1024 x 728 and keep my desktop at 800 x 600. With this setup I cannot alt/tab out of the menu screens. However, if I reverse those numbers (with the game at 800 x 600 and desktop at 1024x728) I can't alt/tab out of a game, but I can alt/tab out of the menus. Weird. That doesn't really help... ...I can Alt-Tab out of the game if the game resolution is different from my desktop resolution though... I just want to play the game in 1280x1024 resolution and STILL be able to Alt-Tab.

Because I don't need to change my screen resolution to alt-tab all I need to do is change the screen refresh rate.
grandma
Thank you, baseballfans! Changing my refresh rate solved my problem. I don't have to mess with resolution at all now. Thanks!!
