RedSoxFox7
I just got a DVI to component adapter for my PC so I can now hook it up to my HDTV. The problem is, if the TV gets a 4x3 signal from the PC, the whole picture isn't displayed on the screen. I basically just need to find a way to run MVP at 1152x648 or 1280x720. RedSoxFox7
OK, I found out how to hex edit the EXE for widescreen resolutions, and I replaced 640x480 with 1280x720 but it's still not working for me. What resolution are the menu screens in? Maybe if I change that, I can get it to work properly.
edm
there's a long thread here about getting wide screen to run with mvp. from what Ive read, even if it works, it won't be a true widescreen image, it will only stretch out the default image to the widescreen resolution. Thanks, I've been thumbing through that as I've been testing on my end. I'm OK with it being stretched, I just want to be able to get it running on my TV. I changed the 800x600 to 1280x720 with the hex editor and got it working in-game, but all the menus are still the wrong resolution. See, unlike with a monitor that can display multiple resolutions, I guess the TV will only really display at 16x9 resolutions. So if I send a 4:3 signal to the TV, say 640x480, I end up getting like 560x315 or some odd number actually visible. So, my predicament is simply getting MVP to display in a 16:9 resolution at all times.
Sidewinder
I have a 42" LCD that maxes at 1366x768. My ATI Radeon card will do 1360x768, so I have my MVPexe set to that and it works great. I can send it to you. Just PM me with your email.

What did you change to get it to display in the stretched resolution in the menus? I appreciate the offer of the EXE, but my TV has some overscan issues too, so I'm tweaking exactly what resolution I need to use. I'm just having a problem getting the menus to be in the same 16:9 resolution as the rest of the game. I thought changing the 800x600 to 1280x720 would fix that, but it apparently didn't. edm
This is just a guess, but it may not be possible to change the res for the menu's, only in the game. It seems like the menu's are locked to 800x600 (or maybe it's 640x480) no matter what res you select.
Sidewinder
When editing the exe, replace the 800x600 with the res you want to play with. The menus will default automatically to 800x600 anyways.

Dirtdog
I have been crying about the overlays not fitting the screen for months now. I am playing on a 50" plasma, but can't get the overlays to show on screen properly. The top, right side and bottom are all cut off? If someone gets this to work; please post it. Also I have thought about editing the KSM overlay, and moving all these great overlay parts in some.............But have no idea how? Is that possible? Does anyone know how it's done, and is there a program?
