Mound Cutoff

Is there a way to have a throw from the outfield to home be cutoff at the mound? Whenever I try to throw someone out at the plate, the batter can easily go to second b/c I cannot cut the throw at the mound. I noticed that when I had a CPU vs. CPU game, the outfield throws were cut at the mound; however, I cannot do this when playing. I've tried hitting the cutoff button as the throw comes in, but to no avail. Seems to me that this is a huge play in baseball that is lacking in this game. Any ideas?

I know I've been able to do this before. Are you sure you are calling for the cutoff in time ( meaning giving the pitcher enough time to move from where he is to the ball) ??? I'm getting ready to play so I'll check this out further and I'll let you know if I can duplicate it.

throw to home, and then after the fielder lets go of the ball, press the cut-off button. that should do the trick.

I've tried hitting the cutoff button after the outfield throw to no avail. Do you have to hit it immediately? Do you have to hold it in? I think I've tried everything. Hoosier, let me know if you can duplicate it. Thanks!

you have to hit the cutoff button pretty quickly after the throw, and it should cut off

That's too bad. It'd be nice to cut the throw later when you see it has no chance of getting the runner at the plate. I'll give it a try.

Well, sometimes you don't know when you want to cutoff until you see if the throw is going to be on line (successful) or not

An other problem I often got, when I eventually cut the ball off, is that the CPU notices I press the cut off button and he will not run (to second).

i feel you grandma..0_o...i've only been able to do this ONCE in the game, in all my months of playing...and i think that if you HOLD down the relay button and somehow move the analog of you cut off man toward the ball, it'll "somehow" work....i'm gonna try that again...:]
